Joe Cole is a greedy chav *word censored*!!!!!

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Arsenal Insider claim to have an "Exclusive" on the Joe Cole situation. Apparently 115k a week, 4 your deal to Arsenal. Check it out, probably a waste of band-width but Arsenal Insider have got a few things right in the past.

I can't see us paying £115k a week and he is not worth that amount...I think he will go to scummy spurs

OK so many rumours floating around it's hard to know what to beleive at this stage. Some fans are saying don't take him cos we don't need him, we have too many similar players and that we need strengthening in 3 other places. All of that is true but to my mind we do need him. Personally an injury free Cole offers more than the other similar players, with the exception of Fabregas and I feel he'll give the squad, club and fans a huge lift going into the new season. I'm sure Wenger will get it right this time in the other areas too so I just pray that we don't mess him around too much, pay the wages as he's on a free and just enjoy the huge boost he'll give to the place after the disappointing end to 09/10.

I have to say if we did it could be a positive if it meant we were willing to stretch our wage structure to acquire other top players.

If though as suggested he was the replacement for Cesc on that much it would just be penny-wise pound-foolish really, especially if he was the only such signing wage-wise. It would also strike me as a bit deceptive again - see we're willing to spend...once.

I agree its unlikely to happen to begin with but if it happens it could at least mean some real positive change is afoot finally but again it hardly guarantees that is happening on its own.

I will say this - it would very much be a "Wenger" move, much in line with Overmars, Kanu and to a lesser extent, Petit gambling on players with serious physical (or with Petit psychological) issues in their history. There is a difference between suffering a catastrophic injury and being chronically injured, and this move has paid off big before...

the Goons on the Insider have claimed that it will be £80k a week + signing on fee equates to £115k. We will not be paying him £115 directly a week. It keeps Cole on what he is on now at Chelski and keeps him below Fab, Arsh etc

Cheers for that -

Having said that :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

When will they learn you just won't win anymore paying top players 80K at most and pushing out players not who deserve that much or more but are on 20-30K.

When will the money from the new stadium actually make the football team better anyway? Isn't that the reason we built it in the first place?

No. We built it so Hill-Wood, Friar & Fiszman could buy bigger, more expensive bottles of brandy. And lots of nice cigars.

I'd be even more happier if Projoe's mate knew Cesc's family and that Cesc senior had told him that Cesc was staying!
