Diaby & Denilson

Post by Lethal »

Just wanted to see what people's opinions are on these two at the moment.

For me,Diaby improved a lot this season(before a end of season slump back to shitness)he showed he was willing to get stuck in and take on more responsibility,he's got wonderful natural ability and offers us a physical threat(sometimes towards the wrong goal  ) however his lack of a fucking brain can be a problem

As for Denilson,i remember his first year at the club, limited to mostly Carling Cup games but he looked like a much more creative player with some excellent passing skills,he was wonderful when we beat spurs 3-1 at the emirates in the semi...and then came the 08/09 season where we were treated week in week out to fucking constant sideways passing and getting bitchslapped silly all over the pitch like a little girl,he has been starting most games for 2 years now,and has he really improved at all ?

personally i don't think either are good enough for our first team, but we seem stuck with them :(

who would have thought it would be Alex Song to be the star of the 3 all those years ago

In France everybody want Diaby to start ahead of Gourcuff! In the last games, he's been impressive when he came on.

I think he's a very good player, the only problem is he's injury prone so he's fit 1/5 of the games. But he's powerful, skillful, and he's got still room for improvement. If he's fit and plays a whole season, he could be amazing. Don't forget he's scored like 7 goals this season.

If I didn't know better I'd swear you were talking about another player and one that the club would do well to sign!!! :?

to be honest the thought of diaby and denislon playing in the first 11 next season, makes me feel sick!!

Sick that my season ticket money is down the shitter.Sick that i will have to watch them clowns play for our mighty arsenal AND CRINGE ALL OF THE MATCH.

Lets be serious they are shit, weak, no guts, no heart , and payed to much!

Im sorry if my views upset people. Sometimes i fly off the handle like, with the cesc saga, however i am calm right now, and yes they are both fucking shit.

God help us if they are if there in the first 11 next season!

Denilson is a pub player at best and even then I doubt he'd get to start every game. :? By FAR the worst midfield player in Wenger's reign and probably the club's history.

Diaby you can see he's very talented, just needs to be more consistent (how long have we been saying that for now?).

I almost feel bad for Denilson really. He seems a decent if not outstanding player. His problem is first he's not first-choice Arsenal quality at any position I'm afraid.

But worse, he simply is not and will never be an adequate holding midfielder of any sort at Arsenal or any other club at this level really. Playing him out of his best position simply exposes just how inadequate he really is to the point that he appears to be an even worse player than I think he actually is.

denilson was one of those youth prospects that you would be sure that would develop into a wonderful player. he captained brazil in every level (except for the main team, of course) and was praised by many people here in brazil as the next big thing in brazilian midfield... but the lad couldn't live to the expectations. i still think he is better than what we make of him here, i think he is a decent squad player.
truth is that the 4-3-3 didn't suit him and he had some terrible performances this season (and also some very good ones, also scored some wonderful goals).

i'd make him more of a squad player next season, playing only in the fa cup and carling cup until he finds his game again. i don't like the fact the he is the only second choice for song.

Diaby - Bit of a strange one.
Is not a defensive midfielder, so no point in playing him there or judging him on playing there.
Absolute shite on the wings and i will never understand why Wenger insisted in playing him there so often a few seasons back, or why he would ever play there now.
Seems to just stroll around in some matches and not do anything for 90 minutes, but then in others he seems like a man possessed and is unstoppable. First few minutes against barca would show how he can collect the ball, turn his man, gallop forward and find another player. His goal against Newcastle a few seasons back was quality aswell and shows that he can make great runs and smash the ball in the back of the net aswell.
The main problem is finding him a proper position, (AM perhaps?) where he can make those runs into the box and finish off the move, and being consistent. Although his inconsistency could be down to playing in so many positions and not just being given one job and told to do that. My thoughts would be that he's the type of player you have to spell out what you what them to do and make sure he does it.

Denilson - not world class, not a good attacking midfielder, not a good defensive midfielder, not a winger, so WTF is he? What does he add to the team? I can't see much myself tbh. He's just average.
The test i usually use is asking myself this question, what will he be able to do in a match against say UTD or Chelsea. And when i see his name on the starting line up against those teams i really do fear for the match. I can't see him being able to break up the opposition play, can't see him making crunching tackles, cant see him playing the killer pass, cant see him being able to beat defenders. So my opinion is that he doesn't really add anything to the team :?
