Seriously ?? Jeez how old are you ? I mean we might take the piss out of your club a bit on here but many of the older fans like myself would have a respect for your teams from the last 70's and the 80's but clearly that must have been before your time.

Anyway it never ceases to amaze me how blinded you scousers are after 1 lucky champs lge success under rafa. I know ye won the fa cup as well but barely beating west ham is nothing really to crow about for a club like yours no ? The spanish waiter has wasted more fcuking money on shite players yet he still complains about a lack of funds  17m for a full back, 20m on an almost full time inj italian crock, 18m on a player that he sold back to the scum 6mths later for a 6m loss....do I need to go on ? And after spending all that money and buying all those players he has now left ye with the worst liverpool team in the last 20 years but yet he is still a hero in your eyes  I dont know who you will blame when the yanks have upped sticks and gone

I grew up during the Souness/Houllier era.....not only that, but we've had some amazing games under Rafa, off the top of head, Olympiakos, Juventus, Chelsea, AC Milan CL Final, Inter home and away, Arsenal, Barca away, Mancs 1-4 at OT, Mancs in FA Cup, Real Madrid home and away and there's more. I love how you put winning the biggest competition in Europe down to luck Augie and then you go on to say that winning the FA Cup isn't a great achievement. The wasted money myth is easily dispelled here on RAWK: http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/ind ... c=249365.0

I'm not gonna reply to the bit about the worst team for 20 years because it's obvious you got it from the rags.

How can that money be considered wasted if he recouped most of it?

how many did he buy and then resell cos they were shit, and £228m is an awful lot of money over 5 years for not coming close to a league win.

To be fair Bodje, having sold Alonso, I think spending the best part of £40m on a right back an an injury prone midfielder was an odd thing to do.

There can't be many managers in football whose sacking has disappointed their own supporters AND the supporters of rival clubs in equal measure.

Like you, I'm gutted he's gone. Difference is, I'm now worried you might bring in a decent manager - the run of average managers, from Souness to Evans to Houllier to Rafa, must come to end sooner or later, and you'll come across your own Fergie, Mourinho or Wenger one of these days and your 20 year wait for the title will come to an end :(

I got it from growing up in an era where the scousers dominated and played good football too. The club had a style about them (on the pitch anyway) that was envied across europe and your teams under rafa for the last 5 years wouldnt be on the same planet as those teams. When you look at your line up under rafa now how many of them would be coveted by the very best clubs ? I'd say I wouldnt be wide of the mark by saying 3 cos the rest are either average or downright shit - goodbye rafa...we will all miss you

Fuck him he brought nothing to the premiership watching lpool playing under him was like watching paint dry.All ive ever got from watching lpool play under him was a sore neck from looking up in the air to see where the ball was.Hadnt a clue how to buy players with only 3 exceptions torres alonso and reina. He needed another striker last season to cover for torres and what did he do spent 17m on a fullback and 23m on an injured midfielder and let alonso go what a twat. The only reason im sorry to see him ago was if he stayed hed drag lpool down and hopefully you would get relegated.I fucking hate lpool. So stop whining.

2008/09, 4 points behind United.

I admit he didn't like to release the shackles and let the team play as free flowing as they potentially could, but that's because he is a great tactician, like Fabio Capello for example. He has improved our league positions since he came in, dramatically improved our performances in Europe and has been a man of humility (not many managers in the League can compare with this) and he has shown that he is basically one of us. At the end of the day though while i'll respect opposition fans views about him the people that know this club best are us and we have seen what the man has done for this club the last 5 years and the fact is we probably wont be in the Champions League for another while and most of us might not ever see some of the things we've seen under Rafa, atleast at Inter he will have proper owners and proper funding.
