Diaby & Denilson

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The Arsenal v Uruguay
Diaby 8/10 The type of performance we wish to see on a regular basis.
PV reincarnated as per the prophecy . Prominent in everything good the French produced . La Grande Saussige Mark II ?
Defended and Attacked , best performance I've seen him produce in a long long time .

Gallas 6/10 Not a not to do but was often given the Run around by
Forlan . Grateful to Diaby on one or two occasions . Uruguay tried to play off his shoulder with Suarez , nippy player but always more suspect with better (and Faster ) players spinning off him .

Sagna 7/10 Got forward well and those crosses were pretty useful .
That Foul could have been nasty though .

Future Legend Watch ;
Gourcuff 6/10 Seen a lot of the ball but on this showing , not fit to
lace Cesc's boots . Limited vision and so so technique and didn't get into the area's where Fabregas goes . Eager to shoot though and not a bad
dead ball deliverer either . Obviously , the jury is still out . Domenech omitting Nasri , what was he thinking .

To Be continued ...............................

Gourcuff isn't good enough for Arsenal. Trust me, Diaby is much better. Gourcuff had a great season with Bordeaux, when they finished champions, but last season he was terrible. And it's exactly the same now with France. He's a good player but not a futur legend imo, overated. No wonder why Milan let him go.

We have had a number of poor seasons with diaby especially the last one when he was absolute shite  I really really hope that diaby has a nightmare world cup cos otherwise we are going to be looking at this brainless *word censored* as a regular starter next season :worried: :banghead:

Diaby's just not cut out for the premierleague. I hope he has a stellar world cup and someone like Real or Barcelona offer £30m for him. I'd gladly pick him up at Ashburton and drive him to Heathrow.

It's harsh. Don't forget how Song improved.

If Diaby is less injured, he'll be consistent and become one of the best midfielder in the league. If we sell him, we'll regret it and we'll hear the same persons saying 'we're a selling Club, we sell our best players, bla bla bla'

last paragraph:
Wenger also ruled out an interest in Barca’s Yaya Toure, insisting Abou Diaby was his main man in midfield for Arsenal.

Having read the article can I just point out again that wenger saying that we dont want to sell cesc is a billion miles away from saying that we will not sell him which the headline claims

He did in the second part of the season.
I think everyone is entitled to his opinion, but to think he's not good enough to play at Arsenal is very harsh to say the least. If he still didn't convince some fans the last season, it will be for the next season.

Anf if not next seanon then it will def be the season after that.....or maybe the season after that :hmmthink:  :banghead:
Vince he is not good enough for what is even a bad Arsenal team  If he plays well for france this month then maybe it is the prem that doesnt suit him, or the tactics we use or maybe even wenger himself is the problem but it doesnt escape the fact that he aint good enough and is at the very top of my list of players that should be shipped out of the club this summer

Used to give Diaby the benefit of the doubt. Some of his play is great but way too inconsistant. What really put me off him was his attitude at the end of last season. He seemed to hide during games when we needed to stand up. Joining the view that maybe if he had a good world cup we could get good money for him.

Diaby has moments of absolute brilliance but that is all. Moments. He never has a whole game where he is quality, just bits of games. And then he can go game after game after game without even a moment of achieving averageness. Not good enough at that level.

Denilson is just a piss flap blowing in the wind...

well augie, i'm sure that in your opinion arsenal has at most 2 or 3 players good enough for a good arsenal team, right?
