Atmosphere and early LEAVERS AGAIN
Just a quick one. I know we have a lot of discussion about this but It really annoyed me last night to see the players come out to a half empty stadium. I know it did fill up as the game went on bu next to me about 7 poeple didnt turn up untill 35 mins into the game. SHOCKING!!!.
Also i feel the atmosphere was poor apart from the usuall red action. All they sing in the yellow quadrent is ' stand up if you hate tottenham' and i dont liek that song as it is.
And last but not least the early leavers. I looking around with 15 mins to go and there were LEAVERS!!!!!!!! it really gets me. And with 88mins up the stadium was empty, why not stay and really get behind the lads for the last few minutes. Im sorry but this is getting to regular and it is dissapointing to see especially when we pay a fair bit for the tickets in the first place.
Anyone feel the same or is it just me.
Rik

nothing new here, people will always leave early even if its a 12.45 kick off. some people may have a legit reason but 20,000!!!!!!
It was quite a stale atmos with the destiny out of our hands in the group but people subconsciously are looking the rouble boys on Sunday to really let it fly.
AFC
C'mon

wont change any time soon mate.
You could almost see the disappointment on Gallas' face as he walked out and as the camera panned you can tell why, the stadium was half empty (or half full
)..
Atmosphere was shite and performance wasn't great.
Anyone who does it wont stop all of a sudden and it wouldnt be an issue if it was a case of ones and two's leaving, but by the final whistle I'd say there were probably 20,000 there..
If it continues, which I'm sure it will given the type of fan we now attract, we will soon become a laughing stock.

Please dont shoot me down for saying this but i think SOMETIMES its not all that bad.. It can be an un-believeabley hard task to get home from ashburton sometimes so i do kinda understand if its a done result.
I personally wudnt do it an never have because a have a long way to travel anyway so it would be pointless for me.
i does do my head in tho when we are maybe just one goal up and its coming to the end.. i'll never understand them people.

Last night
I was in Orange quadrant in the upper tier, and it was quiet. There was more singing in the Auld Triangle before the game. I never leave early, it's a bit like leaving food on your plate and half your drink behind. That said the journey back to Blackhorse Road was terrible - tube, bus, and finally the tube again.

you sit there for 43mins and you cant wait that extra two mins till the whistle, im afraid its a poor excuse. Most of us here are fully grown adults and im sure we can go without food, drink, piss, and shit for 90 mins. you have 15 whole mins to piss shit and if you NEED a drink then grab one but im sorry i just dnt think ill ever understand it.

People say that they cant get home unless they leave on time-if thats the case then dont fucking come in the 1st place. The game lasts 90 mins not 80. If you cant get home then you live too far away and shoud support your local team, dont support arsenal because they have a decent chance of winning things! I never understand glory hunters!
Really winds me up!!
Really winds me up!!
The atmosphere last night was poor, but everyone knows that this Sunday it'll be fantastic.
I think people have to realise that being a week night and being that we had already qualified, there was always going to be a % of 'new' support at the game last night who might not either know the songs or feel up for singing. (Before I get cut down: 1. I go every game; 2. I sing at every game)
As for early leavers...this was something that wound me up last season, then I decided to watch the crowds at the away games I went to, just to see if this was an AFC problem...and guess what...it ain't - every club/ground has it - at villa and west ham this season the grounds were empty within a minute of the final whistle, their fans were pouring our the ground with 10 minutes to go...and their teams were still in with a chance of nicking a point! Then I thought back to Highbury and I remember all the people leaving 10 minutes early then...its nothing new!
I honestly believe the biggest difference nowadays is that with the design of our new stadium it is that much more visable.
Now, I agree everyone really should stay until the end. It annoys me when 10 minutes from time I have to start standing up for the early leavers, but I'm not going to start having a go, because you never know the reason behind their leaving early, instead I pity them. I also feel happy that I'm not so hen-pecked by the missus that I can stay until the end and show my respect/love for the team.

1st thing they need to do is sort out the transport issue. I never leave early but sometimes when you are in a massive Q walking fecking miles to get to and only tube station open you start to wish you had. The OB even stop you walking on to Hollaway Rd to go to the pub to waste time waiting for the tube station to open.
They dont make it easy for people who have to travel. But as far as I am concerned clapping the players off the pitch is part of being a supporter.

Forget the transport issue if we were drawing with Barcelona in the champions league and the game goes into extra time how many people would leave to get there train?
The crazy thing is this Arsenal team scores so many late goals why would you want to miss them.
Stay till the end to support the boys
