THE PROJOE TOTALLY POINTLESS TRANSFER RUMOUR THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

VERTOGHEN
from Ajax to be a centre back/defensive midfield signing?

"I" asked Belgian Gooner about this guy in April, but he said he was not sure how good he was.

Now a few papers are linking him, and Van Der Wiel, with us.

If Vermaelen is used to playing with them, might be a good idea?

If that particular deal goes through, we would have stolen 75% of their backline

..Is the left back any good? 8)

Is it my imagination or are we no longer even being mentioned in the transfer rumours in the media.....?

At one stage I half expected Joe Cole to appear modelling the new away kit it was that "certain" and now they're reporting that it's a tug of war between Spurs and Man Utd....!

I know.....all a bit meaningless and very few deals being done during the World Cup....but I actually quite enjoyed us at least being linked with some players let alone - god forbid - actually buying someone!!!!!

What about Oguchi Onyewu?
He could bring in some strength as a CB.

Is he that good though?

Pretty sure I read recently he’s just offered to play for free next season for Milan, cos he was out injured for the whole of last season & he wanted to pay them back for picking up a wage without kicking a ball. Maybe we should implement that for all our players, we'd pay off the stadium in no time.

Copy and paste following link to your browser, and add to your bookmarks.

Look at the page (which automatically refreshes) every five minutes.

You will then be doing the same as thousands of Gooners around the world, thirsty for the slimmest piece of hope, including nearly every made up transfer rumour on the web.

I know this point was made earlier and I know that the world cup might be a distraction but the fact that we are either being linked with average players or no players at all most days doesnt look great for us does it ?
