Not official yet, but looks like a done deal.
Just hope we get another centre back as well, we are short on numbers.

We seem to have gone to quite some effort trying to get him here and 8 million is a lot of money for a young unknown. Lets hope he's the business...nobody had heard of Vermaelin this time last year, but then again nobody had heard of Cygan in 2002 either.

24 is an ideal age.

It's time for Gallas and Silvestre to move on, so a Vermaelen/Koscielny partnership (ideally with Campbell as back-up) sounds like a good move.

Now to clean up the rest of the side.

Vermalean was captain of Ajax, and one of there best players at the team, ive heard a strong rumour of HAngelend and that we've agreed a fee but dont know how much, i'll come back to you on it, if it happens  and tbh i think Sols going,

Kjaer would be an excellent signing in my opinion and would line up as 1st choice alongside vermaelen with the french/polish guy as back up with djouru 8)

Agreed. I thought Kjaer's £10m buyout clause had expired at the end of May but apparently it's June 30. I'd say unless we agreed a deal before the WC he'll have plenty of suitors now & if we get to June 30 & haven't signed him there's no way we wont be outbid in any auction. :(

Cant see Wenger spending £8m on this Polish guy for him to be a back-up either. If he's here I guess he's 1st choice.

What about Jagielka? He would cost about £15m.
