you must admit it was an awful game bg, i know there was 2 teams playing and portugal were very defensive but brazil never got going and had no ideas on how to break them down, very boring but effective team

i do, it was horrible. this brazilian team is nowhere near the last teams, that had the likes of ronaldinho, ronaldo, rivaldo, romário, bebeto, to create something out of nothing. without kaka, brazil simply can't create.

a midfield with an old gilberto, felipe melo and julio baptista says it all, really...

Brazil had already qualified and were without their 2 creative players: Kaka and Robinho. Portugal played for a point and Brazil coasted along - as you'd expect under the circumstances.

I really wouldn't read too much - if anything - into Brazil's performance.

They may not be the swashbuckling side of past tournaments, but they look to have enough to worry most - if not all - teams in this world cup. That said, I bet the Brazil fans don't like the fact that Argentina are now the South American team who play the beautiful, entertaining football!

Sorry to see the States bow out .
Played with a lot of Balls during the tournament and had enough chances in the second half of normal time to have won it .
That guy Gyan is one horse of a man though , a one man battering ram .
Could be an interesting game versus Uruquay .

It's funny because with his Club (Rennes) he couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo

True Vince, I've seen him play a bit, but was never impressed by him tbh.
He is big and strong, but I haven't seen him hitting the target as often as he should considering the oppertunities he creates. Infact everyone was saying 3 goals in 4 games at the WC....ffs he scored 2 from the penalty spot....I don't remember seeing him score many from open play in a lot of his games.

Defensive lapses and a lack of a forward with finishing ability did us in. congrats to Ghana. With Essien in the team this team could have gone really far, but I think Uruguay will have their number next round.

I don't think Ghana even deserved to be playing USA...so was disappointed to see them win but oh well...

Uruguay should beat them.
