The Reyes / Baptista dilemma (13/4)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The Reyes / Baptista dilemma (13/4)

Post by gooner.ed »

usual thread starter... imagine if we couldn't offload jose in the summer and he had to come back with his tail between his legs. would we welcome him with open arms?

Reyes wont come back.He said the football is too physical for him in England and he hates the cold weather(poor boy)
Both Reyes and Baptista and been failures and neither Arsenal or Madrid want to keep them.Maybe we can offload both of them to Spurs.
Its no coincidence that Sevilla have improved since they both left.

Reyes/Baptista

Post by Rajweb »

Personally I hope we offload Reyes and send Baptista back to Madrid. Reyes is a victim of having believed his own hype. We've seen what he can do and the idea that he can't settle in England is just B.S. I think its another Anelka scenario. The problem with Reyes is that he has burnt his bridges and he just can't put on the Arsenal shirt again.

As for Baptista... I can't believe this guy gets paid to play football. Ok so there were the Carling cup goals but most of the time he's a disgrace to the nickname. The beast??? JB is the Brazillian Heskey!

What exactly would we lose by giving Reyes another chance? Baptista has little or no skill. None of his goals compare with some of Reyes' best - like his first v Chelsea and the deciders v Man C away last season - we were 12 minutes away from a draw and 5th place. He also scored a couple of good goals for Madrid. Now he knows Real are not the answer Reyes may have matured. If not we sell himm...anything would be better than Baptista

Fuck them both, Put Reyes on the transferlist, get some money for him and buy a strong experienced midfielder.
Patrick Vieria would be great smile
