Arsene confirms still in market for Defender

This is good news...We definitely need another centre half, one of the Uruguayans would be nice, or Mertersacker? but i suppose it depends on whether Wenger sees Koscielny as the first choice? if he does it will probably a lesser known player

Is it good news or is it fucking obvious given that 4 central defenders - FOUR - have had their contracts expire this summer?

Sorry to be gloomy but this has got 'sell Flamini, Gilberto, Diarra, replace with Song' written all over it...

This is why I asked Vince what foot Koscielny prefers. I believed he was backup for Vermaelen because he played on the left side of defence for Lorient.

But good ol' Vince said he was right footed and together with him being No.6 I presumed he would be first choice :x :banghead: :banghead:

woosah.................. 8)

Hold on
"We are still on the market for another defensive player because we have the need for one more."
So it may not be a defender but rather a dm :?

I think at 8.5m, it's fairly clear that Kosy  is first choice.

Kosielny

I think we can presume he is first choice at that cost with a proviso that we need back up in there. probably a silvestre type signing in terms of being a utility and not total crap.someone like curtis davies maybe he doesnt get a game at villa or some reserve from barcelona in the cesc deal. very quiet on a new keeper which is worrying.!

silvestre

silvestre type in terms of being cheap and versatile. but there was a reason mr ferguson (never call that tosser sir) got rid of him and we all know why that was. i am surprised not amazed we arent doing more to keep sol as he would be perfect for another season.who knows this new guy may take to it like vermaelen or he may take time. can diaby play centre half?!

Glad you noticed this as we've learnt from the past you have to be very careful not to read between the lines with AW.
Even the title on Arse.com suggest it's a defender but AW didn't specifically say that.
yes it could be defender, but also be a defensive midfielder or a goal keeper or even another left sided full back!

Is it me or is BT getting more aggressive in her old age? Last couple of posts have contained the Gordon Ramsay word and it's not very lady like!

Didn’t Wenger say 2-3 players maximum?? Weve got 2 already and the way I see it we still need another CB,GK and a quality Midfielder – And that’s without Cesc going.
Does anyone think Wenger will bring in 2-3 more?
I cant see it to be honest…

Despite the obvious need for a goalkeeper, another central defender and a defensive midfielder I still think we need another forward.

Bendtner, Theo, Eddie - either gone or never had it.

Chamakh, who the fuck knows but the evidence points more to Hartson than Henry.

RVP - lucky to get half a season out of the bloke.
