swap deal for parker

Newcastle/Arsenal swap deal on cards?

Scott Parker is reportedly set for a move back to London in the summer - with a World Cup winner on his way to St James' Park

Toon boss Glenn Roeder is set to hand a three-year contract to Brazilian midfielder Gilberto Silva as part of any deal that sees Parker join the Gunners.

The ex-Chelsea and Charlton man's future on Tyneside has come under scrutiny in recent weeks after criticism from a section of Newcastle fans.

Couldn't agree more. I think this must just be paper/agent talk as there is no way he is our type of player.

I have posted before here thta he is exactly what we need. I would be delighted if he joined. We have enough players with great technique... we need someone who can put in a proper tackle (this can inspire as much as anything when the chips are down)

Beam us up Scotty (sorry - rubbish joke I know)

If the geordies are on his back and he's not good enough for Newcastle then he aint even good enough for our reserves!

Not good enough, prefer Gilberto and Parker has freakishly small arms.

Does he have small arms or are you mistaking him for Parker from Thunderbirds?

If we are looking for a midfield tackler then why are we considering anybody other than Matty Flamini. He can provide that and still have some of the flair that Parker lacks. Personally I would stay with Gilberto every day. I was one of those that wondered what he did until he was out for a while, then I realized.

I agree, didn't know what he was good for but our team really missed him while he was out. Also think Gilberto is a great captain. Personally think we should be looking for a right back and someone to play upfront then worrying about our midfield wich is probably our strongest area at the moment
