Although, I'm not sure about the US.. Ive never studied US history at school, I know Puritans settled in The Us because they wanted to practice their religion in a state where they couldnt be challenged, people became more intrigued with the puritan ways of life. The catholic church in England at the time had been pretty much dissolved by Henry the 8th.. Could be wrong.

An English mate of mine had no idea that the Engerlish had warehouses full of food rotting away in Ireland and that Irish-based Engerlish merchants/landowners continued to export food to Engerland while 1 million Irish people starved to death and another 1 million were forced to emigrate.
When we told him this, he was genuinely shocked. Of course the electric jump cables we'd conected to his testicles helped with that.

I wanted to Study US History... To a certain degree you can but only in American Politics.
Plenty of references to liberty and freedom and "inalienable rights" - they forget to mention that these worthy ideals only applied to whites of European descent.

Yes. But it should also be pointed out that some (mostly middle class) British people were horrified by what their government and merchants had done (in continuing to export corn and beef to Britain during the famine) and protested to the British government. Some middle class British people set up charities to try and aid the victims. But this aid came too late to have any real impact.brazilianGOONER wrote:is this a true story, db10? did that happen in the great famine?DB10GOONER wrote:merson_is_god wrote:Potato what?![]()
