As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
There have been countless threads on here about our 'anthem' and whatnot, but what seems to have gone unmentioned (I think) is the music that gets played after each game (or after each good result...or game. I wouldn't know, we haven't lost at home yet ).
For those of you who don't know, it's Curtis Mayfield - Move On Up. It's such a great song and I love that it gets played after good results. It's no YNWA, but it's not meant to be. Consider me a fan of it!
Just wanted to know what you lot think of it. It's not a big deal, I just think it's a nice touch
PERSONALLY, ALONG WITH THE VAN MORRISON TUNE, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! AN ALL-TIME SOUL CLASSIC THAT ALWAYS GETS ME SWINGING MY HIPS AND NODDING MY HEAD TO THE GROOVE.
Yeah, great song, but I love the idea to play it after good results. 'Move on up'; I find it quite fitting. Really rubs a result in the away fans' faces
Curtis Mayfield was a god, and I love hearing one of his great songs at one of my favourite places. I love Paul Weller and The Jam too, but Move On Up is a Curtis M song.
As for that miserable fucker, Van the Man, yes he's ok, but no patch on Curtis M.
And the book version of Fever Pitch was better than the film ...

Dont tell me you think The Lord of the rings trilogy was better read as well?

You're quite right. Bought it a few years back for my Dad for its in-depth accounts of individual matches from the sixties. It really brought it back for him. It's a really good read.
The film is still really good, though. Is Colin Firth really a Gooner?

I'm not sure I read somewhere he was a Spud and over people have told me he is 100% Gooner so not to sure

Speaking as I am from the LOTR film set that is New Zealand, I feel comfortable saying that the whole pigging goblins and broomsticks business gets on my tits big time, whether it's in books or on film. I trawled (or was it trolled?) through one of those bastard books when I was a teenager (you've got to try everything once apparently) but never again. Perhaps the films are easier on the psyche but I still refuse to subject myself to any of that crap.
And lovely as it is in NZ, I'm feeling pretty fucking bitter about Gus (yes, that Gus) having my seat for the Chelsea, Spurs and West Ham games. Bastard. At least I hear it's fucking cold at home...
