Cesc in Barca shirt!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Probably shouldn't read too much in to it. However, it must be said, it's just like going to a bar with your girlfriend and watching a bunch of blokes trying it on with her, even though they're aware that she has a boyfriend, and they know he's watching. Not to mention that she doesn't seem to mind the attention very much...

suprise suprise!!!!! :o

Have to say it does stick in your throat a bit seeing them dress him up like that but its not worth getting angry about. The thing that struck me was isnt this parade in Madrid? The future of Barca quote and the shirt wont go down well there, will it?

Cesc can be seen trying his best to take it off, so really there is nothing he could have done different there. Reina, i have no idea what hes doin up there, im sure 80%-90% of people who watched the world cup did not know he was in the squad...but yes typical barcelona pique and puyol, thats exactly why I too, along with many others wanted the dutch to beat spain

I actually started laughing when I saw Reina on the winner's podium.

You could always take this line out of Cesc's quote wen talking about Arsenal

They deserve it and they have a world champion at the club.

Given all the attention Fabregas is getting you would have thought he had captained the side to five league titles!

You all pissed yourself laughing when Essien was caught in an Arsenal shirt and does it look like he is coming to us!

Jesus, it was just pissed footballers larking about and please, get used to him in a Barca shirt as you will be seeing a lot more of it!

I guess hes literally never gonna play in another world cup so he;s making the best of what he has left.

Radford is so wrong, cesc is not just 'a' player. He is THE player.

Reina is, for want of a better word, the joker in the squad, the guy who helps conduct the celebrations and the laughs. Kind of like Eboue only Reina is a brilliant keeper.

As for the whole thing, it was a joke by a team that got a little silly after winning the Euro's and got a little silly now after winning the world cup. No harm in them having some fun, didn't think it was funny myself but each to their own

Does anyone really believe he is staying? Think about it... leave Arsenal, the underperforming has-beens living on the glory of a great team from 5 years (HALF A FUCKING DECADE) ago and go to the all conquering Barcawhores, team of your childhood, back to the country of your birth as a world cup winner, to play with world class players every day, win medals every year, cap your career in the glory your talent deserves... it's a no brainer for me, unfortunately.

Also, the other thread about his "it's for Arsenal" quote? What he actually said was;

"I am really proud to have been an Arsenal player."

Past tense. It was a goodbye to us. :(

I can see him staying for another year due to Arsenal not wanting to sell Cesc this season, simply as some sort of stand but on the understanding that he goes go to them next year.
