Its true that any case of rape is shocking and we should reserve judgement on the individuals involved but still I remember the stick we received over the van persie case. If there isnt a manure player involved in this alledged rape then why have the club come out with this no comment bullshit ? Well, the BBC have confirmed that it is indeed Jonny Evans that has been arrested. He is currently being held in custody pending further investigation.

Very very foolish given the current climate, silly season so any news will be leapt upon and with England players drinking and with girls, the headlines write themselves, now we will get days of how spoilt players are. I understand letting their hair down and getting drunk but Ronaldo at least must have known the risk of inviting woman.

As Evans was hardly expected to become the next big thing, I worry for when his time to depart arrives, even if found innocent it may be a huge stain on his reputation.
