As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Its true that any case of rape is shocking and we should reserve judgement on the individuals involved but still I remember the stick we received over the van persie case. If there isnt a manure player involved in this alledged rape then why have the club come out with this no comment bullshit ? The whole thing reminds me of the time in the 80's when manure held a knees up in mallorca and they had to fly one of their welsh stars out fairly lively before being arrested after a woman was raped
Well, the BBC have confirmed that it is indeed Jonny Evans that has been arrested. He is currently being held in custody pending further investigation.
I will never cease to be amazed by the idiocy of some people.
Very very foolish given the current climate, silly season so any news will be leapt upon and with England players drinking and with girls, the headlines write themselves, now we will get days of how spoilt players are. I understand letting their hair down and getting drunk but Ronaldo at least must have known the risk of inviting woman.
As Evans was hardly expected to become the next big thing, I worry for when his time to depart arrives, even if found innocent it may be a huge stain on his reputation.
clayton never got 100% cleared bit the media wasnt so bad back then as it is now with 24hour sports news etc,,
its a sad crime and thank fuck it wasnt one of ours as you can imagine the media outcry,,
as augie said remember the crap poor rvp got and he wasnt guilty
To be fair rebel its very hard to clear a mans name when the *word censored* legs it out of the country of the alledged crime before you say manure b*stards When I referred to the shit rvp put up with it I wasnt making a case for us Gooners to be more considerate but instead to seek some sort of payback for all the shit we listened to from the manure fans over rvp
Rape is indeed a foul crime and forcing oneself on a young lady is only to be frowned upon, but due to legal reasons it is best not to enter into the murky world of speculation into the subject at all
But let's never miss a chance to stick the boot into Man Utd at any time

Still, if it is a United player who has done this, how fucking stupid have you got to be? Seriously; you're a professional footballer, you're getting paid obscene amounts of money and you're set up for life. Even if you're an ugly fucker, you can still probably have most girls you want, so why on fucking earth would you rape someone? It's career suicide.
It's on a par for stupidity with Glen Johnson nicking that toilet seat from B&Q. Now that was funny!
You can take the boy out of Temple Hill, but you cant take the Temple Hill out of the Boy!
Yes we got some stick over Van Persie but let us show more class, rape is a serious case and either a woman has been assaulted/about to get her reputation bashed in by defence lawyers or a man's reputation is going to be ruined even if found not guilty, let us be dignified in our silence.
