As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Firstly I agree 100% with you that cesc was given the captaincy to appease him and I also disagree with this policy of doing so. I never claimed that he is an exceptional captain or leader but I did say that he is our talisman which basically means that we go as cesc goes and if he is missing or marked out of a game then we are a much lesser team and that, in my opinion at least, the true definition of a talisman.
Your point about loyalty and where my opinion originates re the players loyalty to wenger is simple....the players say it often enough in interviews how they feel towards wenger. Do I think that we are the only club that is affected by the lack of player loyalty of course not but it was you that questioned where the loyalty has gone not me.
Can I say that I never claimed that I was speaking for the vast majority of fans - what I did imply and maybe should have said is that is the views that have been made crystal clear from the fans on this forum (if you want to read them) have suggested that they want sucess as opposed to expect sucess. The problem with you and your ilk is that it is easier for you to label unhappy fans as those that expect sucess as a right rather than actually accept that some of the complaints are valid. It is like your automatic assumption that we will win the league within 10 years cos that is the way the world works I'm sure that back in 1990 fans of liverpool didnt expect that it would be another 20+ years before they won the league and they were coming off a period of absolute dominance. It is all very well developing your own talent but if you are continually selling your best players how do we as a club make progress on the field ? You have acknowledged that we dont spend much of our income from sales but suggest this time it will be different cos it is the first time we have received this kind of money but just last summer we received 40m from man shitty and spent fcuk all of it too When you dont have any hard facts either way all you can do is go on past examples and that is not good

£41m for Toure and Greedy. We didnt even spend a quarter of that. And we ended up signing Sol and Chamakh on free transfer. So much for spending all the money we get in for transfers.
Firstly, that's two transfers, not one. Secondly, what happened in the past is not a guarantee as to what will happen in the future. But if you lot want to let it wind you up, so be it. If you're going to get wound up every time we don't win something, you'll spend a lot of your life wound up, and for what?
£41m is £41m....who cares how many transfers, that money was not spent.[/quote]
Spot on, 41m walks into the bank account and how much was spent? FFS look around and see what the other clubs are doing. Before to long we'll get left behind and when we do it will be to late!!! What ever happens Arsenal are my team but i rather support them in the Prem than in the 2nd Divison
