THE PROJOE TOTALLY POINTLESS TRANSFER RUMOUR THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Mertesacker is only 25 years old, 69 caps for germany, 1,98m.
I think this would be a very good signing.

More rumours that wont happen. I am sick of it! Every other club is bidding on real fucking players! Every link we have had has been on hear say and rumours.

Saying that, i agree would be a good CB

I saw this rumour flying around this morning on several sites.
Maarten Stekelenburg, Gregory van der Wiel, and Luis Suarez 'set for triple Arsenal transfer' - £48M
http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/8 ... l-transfer

I very much doubt we would be spending also £50M nor do we need Suarez. But with Ajaz in debt and Jol leaving there could be some element of truth. Maybe a bid soley for Stekelenburg?

I don't want that twat Suarez any near Arsenal
And I agree, I think we should put in a bid for just Stekelenburg

I cant stand Suarez the cheating little c***! Stekelenburg could be a good shout tho. Even a small whisper is better than the stooges we have at the mo.

Could it be...?

A while back Luic Remmy spoke to wenger and told him he loved Arsenal and that he was an Arsenal fan. He is friends with Henry who also told him to join Arsenal...

This was just announced on skysports.

Remy's agent, Frederic Guerra, has admitted a major Premier League club has joined the chase for the Frenchman.

"A major club from the Premier League have contacted me about Loic," Guerra told skysports.com.

"I have a meeting with the club tomorrow [Wednesday] and we will see what happens.

"Whatever happens Loic will be leaving Nice this summer and he has his heart set on England."

He's agent was hyping him up with Liverpool.
I haven't seen the link but my colleague was yesterday quoting news now (L'pool).
Basically the agent was saying that without Torres and with a qualifier coming up how are the scousers getting the goals needed. The agents also further hyped his ability and blah blah etc...and said I'm not just saying this because I'm his agent!

(off course not it's the money that making you talk!)

Football Spy: Arsenal will make a firm bid for diminutive winger Whaltec Otto in the next forty-eight hours.

The youngest player ever to represent Ghana, Otto's career has faltered in the last two seasons culminating in his exclusion from Ghana's World Cup squad.

Arsenal refused to comment on the specualtion but Football Spy understands that boss Arsene Wenger may well convert him to a more central role.

Just to continue the Remy speculation...

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 63,00.html

"Skysports.com revealed last week Liverpool had expressed an interest in the 23-year-old hot-shot as they look to bolster their attacking options.

However, a mystery Premier League side have now thrown their hat into the ring for Remy as they look to steal a march on their rivals for the player."

That means someone other than West Ham, Spuds and Liverpool, who are also mentioned in the article.
