My 10000 post pic and im honouring Arsenal

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

no its the blue Gooner shirt.

Yes Cus"y Leipzig was brill..We were told in NO uncertain terms NOT to take pics at check point charlie.
What was evident on our journey between east and west that most cars west were new mercedes and as soon as we got to the east, everyone was driving old bangers.
Once in the stadium the east german army lads were swapping parts of their uniform for our scarves etc..AMAZING!!
After the game we found the team hotel where the players were in a room having a few drinks.
We got invited in and we justv stood there in awe as the irish players were singing songs.
I can actually see now david oleary singing the irish rover.
ILL NEVER FORGET THAT EVENING!..Thats where Terry Neil signed the pennant.

Great story.
GDR really sucked! One of my colleagues went there sometimes and even attended the match West Germany - East Germany here in Hamburg at the WC in 1974. The east supporters were poor lads, not much to cheer in their lives except that 1-0 by Jürgen Sparwasser. My colleague was mad after that game and throw his ticket away. Now the ticket would be worth a couple of hundred Euros :x

Thanks lads..the morning after the match we went down to the town sq right outside our hotel where a market was going on.
We see a flipping long Q going round the block..They were Q"ing for British records at a record store
One last thing..We actually went by coach(The travel club still gave us the pennants even though theres a plane on it)and on our coach(2 went)there was an old English comedian and his daughter.
His name was CARDEW ROBINSON..Only us oldies will remember him.

That's a Brilliant Story G'Nuey thanks for sharing it......

I somehow cannot even imagine today's players being so open, welcomimg or available...it's bad enough just trying to get an autograph for my son....they are so well 'protected'(ie: cut off) from the fans and the REAL world these days.....

I've only just found this thread (unfortunately). There are moments in your life when something happens that scars you.
I've just had mine
