Arsenal-chelsea

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Just back home a few hours ago and am still buzzing. Like a lot of fans at the game I thought the athmosphere was electric but would like to have heard how it came across on tv. I know that they were missing 3 key players but surely when you spend over £200m your squad can cope with a few absentee's ? Anyway it was obvious that cesc & hleb in particular were not match fit and understandably struggled big time in the 2nd half. Unlike a lot of fans I didnt think the performance was that good but like most fans I didnt really care - big games like this are rarely good games and the 3pts are all that mattered. You just knew that a few of our players were waiting for a chance to kick the judas *word censored* up in the air - whatever about the way he treated Arsenal you do not slag off former team-mates in a book especially when you are going to play twice a season

BY THE WAY, I THINK I CAN TAKE CREDIT FOR US FINALLY BEATING THE CHAVS AFTER 10 ATTEMPTS!

YOU SEE, I USED TO ALWAYS GO TO ARSENAL V CHELSEA MATCHES, AND WE WERE UNBEATEN IN SOMETHING LIKE 18 GAMES. THAT WAS UNTIL THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL IN 2004.

THIS MAY SOUND STRANGE BUT I SWEAR IT'S TRUE. I HAD A PREMONITION A COUPLE OF MONTHS PRIOR TO THE MATCH THAT WE WOULD DRAW CHELSEA IN THE 1/4 FINALS AND FINALLY LOSE TO THEM. I TOLD EVERYONE I KNEW THAT THEY WERE GOING TO BEAT US, AND EVEN AFTER THE 1-1 DRAW AT THE BRIDGE, WHEN THE MEDIA AND THE REST OF THE WORLD MADE US STRONG FAVOURITES, I KNEW DEEP DOWN THAT WE WERE GOING TO LOSE. :(

I DECIDED THERE AND THEN THAT I WOULDN'T GO TO THE RETURN MATCH BECAUSE I COULDN'T STOMACH SEEING THE CHAV FANS CELEBRATING A WIN OVER US AT HIGHBURY. ESPECIALLY SUCH AN IMPORTANT ONE.

WATCHING THE GAME AT HOME, WITH THE SCORE 1-1 AND JUST A FEW MINUTES TO GO, I WAS BEGGING FOR THE ADDITIONAL 30 MINUTE COMFORT OF EXTRA-TIME. THEN, ALL OF A SUDDEN, I KIND OF SAW IN MY MIND THE GOAL CHELSEA WENT ON TO SCORE.

FROM THE SECOND THEY WON A THROWN-IN JUST INSIDE OUR HALF, I VISUALISED EVERYTHING THAT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN - BUT IN REALLY SLOW MOTION!! I PICTURED BRIDGE MAKING A RUN FROM HIS OWN HALF TO GET NEAR THE EDGE OF OUR BOX BEFORE HE EVEN SET OFF AND THEN...THEN....WELL YOU KNOW THE REST.

SUBSEQUENT TO THAT MATCH I HAVEN'T BEEN TO ANY OF OUR FIXTURES AGAINST CHELSEA, AND WE HAVEN'T BEATEN THEM SINCE. :x SO I MADE A VOW DURING THE SUMMER THAT THIS SEASON I WOULD GO TO THE ARSENAL/CHELSEA GAME IN ORDER TO BREAK THE JINX THEY HAVE HAD OVER US SINCE THAT PREMONITION! 8)

WELL, WHAT CAN I SAY? IT'S ONLY GONE AND BLOODY WELL WORKED!! 8) NOW I KNOW SOME PEOPLE WILL NEVER BELIEVE IN SUPERSTITION AND WILL CLAIM THAT THE TWO EVENTS WERE NOT RELATED. NORMALLY, I WOULD AGREE WITH THEM.

HOWEVER THIS TIME I'M CERTAIN THERE WAS A GREATER POWER AT WORK AND I'M MORE THAN WILLING TO ACCEPT THE CREDIT FOR THIS VICTORY, BECAUSE I GENUINELY FEEL I CONTRIBUTED TO IT EVERY BIT AS MUCH AS ARSENE WENGER!! 8)

THAT'S TRUE!! 8) :)

HOWEVER, I CAN ASSURE YOU CHIPPY THAT THE ABOVE STORY IS ALSO 100% TRUE. I'M SO FECKING SUPERSTITIOUS WHEN IT COMES TO ARSENAL - BUT NOT ANYTHING ELSE - YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE HALF THE THINGS I DO TO ENSURE THAT WE GET THE RESULT.

IN FACT, I'M CONFIDENT THAT IF ANY PSYCHOLOGIST EXAMINED MY BEHAVIOUR, I'D BE SENT TO A MENTAL HOME FOR SURE!!

You just want to see if you were on TV. Your with friends here you can be honest :D Sorry mate can't help. I used to buy a lot of games on e-bay that I wanted to see after I had been but don't see many on there any more.

Cant help with a copy of the game but I think this is one of the things we will get from Arsenal TV when it comes. I sometimes flick through the Mousers one and it is mostly recent games in full 8).

Plus those of us on Virgin aare getting it free 8)

Augie,

Now, I don't know how familiar with torrents you are, but if you're not, maybe one of the more torrent-literate members of this forum can help you out. Basically, it's a way of downloading huge files off the interweb. You need to download a bit of software to do it, and then download the 'torrent' off a website. Combine the two together, wait about a few hours, and you've got one downloaded file!

Anyway, if you go to this link;

LINK

You should be able to download the torrent for the full 90 mins (Sky coverage, if I'm not mistaken). Let me know how you get on with this, and I'll see if I can help out more if necessary.

Merry Christmas to you all.
