Chamakh is better than bendtner, Chamakh has't got the touch of a rapist and actually can make something happen when he tkaes the ball down.

Pretty much this. Was at the game; same old, same old. Andrey invisble for 35 mins then pops up with a piece of magic to set up Marouane. We still suck at defending set pieces. A few quick observations of my own -

1. Match on fcuk all time before the old favourite ditty "stand up if you hate tottnumb" surfaced for the first of many times this season at the grove

2. Unlike others I felt wilshire and frimpong did not look ready for the step up

Young jack lost possession numerous times trying to be too fancy on the ball and frimpong looked unsure in possession and appeared to have a vendetta against seedorf who he appeared to be fouling every two minutes

3. I thought our moroccan striker looked more lively and faster off the mark than bendtner though that certainly wouldnt be hard

4. Set piece defending shit. Again.

5. Arshavin is a little genius, rosicky showed some nice touches, gibbs did well but nasri has been our best performer to date in the pre-season

I will also add to that by saying for the record that I do not want him moved into cesc's position if our skipper departs.

6. Love them or hate them but the celtic fans know how to get behind their team

Even when they were losing 2-0 you could hear them singing loud and really our support is pitiful in comparison (and yes I am inc the redaction corner). The thing that also struck me about this was that they have numerous songs about their own club and that their singing was all about their club and not the opposition or some perceived rival team (yes that is a dig at us again

).

I guess if you call songs about hating prods and 500 year old battles 'about their team' but point agreed, rangers last year the same, our support embarresing in comparison!!

Chamakh almost identical to Bentner imo but with slightly more potential

you flung a lot of shit during that match, capped it off with the chamakh to bendtner comparison. first, mc didnt miss any easy chances like our pink booted friend. second, chamakh held up the ball and made some excellent passes today (in fact, he was outstanding) leading to countless chances - does that sound like pink boots? finally, he ran his socks off and worked on the defensive end - again, pinky do that? as you were quick to point out, this is a preseason friendly and milan isnt the cream of the crop, but mc looked the part and i am happy to have him. course if he scored three today you'd prob say he should have scored more.

moreover, wilshire was not excellent today - he is a quality player but really did not have a good outing. however, he does look like he can produce consistently at this level. frimpong, however, was outstanding again. broke up play and really frustrated seedorf. only time he was out of position was on some fortuitous bounce back to flamini for his lucky volley. otherwise, he lost the ball once and broke up play and set the tempo nicely.

otherwise, kos was excellent. tv5 was pretty good. nasri was excellent (again). gibbs was lively as was clichy. fabianski was quick off his feet but at sea on the goal. substituting djourou in the center midfield is an absolute joke, and he looked like a dinosaur out there. likewise, randall is utter garbage. wouldnt have minded to see jet.

very obvious we still need a keeper (schwarzer, anyone really) and a big cb for cover (metersacker). frustrating to give away another set piece goal, but to be fair that was a dangerous ball and fab was completely caught unawares (shocking).

Wilshire FOR ME i said, i like him, just my opinion

likewise Chamakh FOR ME slowed down a lot of moves and gave the ball away a bit too many times for my liking a la Nicky but i did see enough to say he had more potential than the dane

Kos is identical to TV in the way he can anticipate play but where was he for the header?

How in the world do you see any part of Bendtner in Chamkh.

1) First touch was good and showed some decent skills.

2) He held up play much better, by that I mean he dint run into midfield before passing back or sideways like Bendtner does. He actually stands his ground and looks to play others in or trys to turn defenders, to think Bendtner is actually the bigger of the two

3) Showed good vision and tried different ways to bring others into play.

4) Won headers

5) Worked tirelessly

Chamakh still has alot to prove but Bendtner would do well to learn from him and fight to get anywhere near the first team. AND I DONT MEAN ON THE RIGHT WING.

Chamakh looked to me like a far better Bendtner, showed real promise.

Kos looked solid. Also comfortable on the ball like TV5.

Fabianski is the definition of the word liability.

Nasri looked very sharp, Rosicky too albeit to a lesser extent.

Andrei did his disappearing trick and then popped up to excellent effect. Did look slightly chubby though, although I think he may have bulked up.

Wilshere didn't look as good as I'd hoped but time is on his side.

I thought Frimpong was good, most of the fouls he conceded were tactical and he looked comfortable on the ball.

Eboue seemed to do very little but nothing wrong.

Gibbs looked good put didn't put in any killer crosses. Again, one for the future...

I understand we are all DESPERATE for our new boys to be the next unearthed Viera, Henry, Petit etc but....

Chamakh is quite obviously a big hold-up type forward in the mould of Bentdner as opposed to the fox in a box lethal poacher like Villa, hence my comparison

Kos exactly like TV and Gallas in reading and breaking up play as opposed to out and out physical presence like Adams or Campbell, hence that comparison

you'll notice i said Cham took his goal well by the way
