Still looking shit defensively

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Had Celtic Reserves converted their penalty, we'd have drawn 3-3 and thrown a 3-goal lead away in 20 minutes.

This season's gonna be fucking awesome.

He said the other day that 3 CB's wasnt enough and that we were in the market for somebody. Koscielny has really impressed me this weekend but Djourou has been poor. We must remember he has been out for a season so hopefully will improve after a few games in the reserves.

With Koscielny, Vermalean and another experienced CB I think we will have enough as long as we dont suffer with injuries. Keep the faith :barscarf:

Jury's out on Kos for me.

Samaras mugging him off like that was very worrying.

Yes, and then, you saw Kos mug off Samaras. Footballers are not robots, you might expect perfection for 100% of the match but its not possible

He paniced Woz, dived in high up the pitch and left himself flat on his arse.

That is basic defending my man.

Agreed, he shouldnt have dived in mate. BUT, the next time he was exposed 1 on 1 with Samaras, he stood his ground.. waited till the perfect moment and won a goal kick. He looks very sharp, and keen to impress.

Kos for me looks small in build and height and has only had one top flight season of football under his belt and that was french football.johan has been out for a season so you can bet on some more injuries before he's back at full strength and he's yet to be a proven CB anyway. That leaves just Tommy V,poor fucker can't do it all on his own and we l said to mates at the end of last season if we still got that wanker in goal we'll win fuck all this season and as it stands the dopey looking twat is still there!

Now i dont rate almunia as a top four keeper, however he had a very good game today.

He did have an excellent game today mate. Unfortunatly i think that he is a very very good number 2, Fabianski, is a very good number 2, jesus even Mannone and Sczesny (However you spell it) is a very good number 2.. WE NEED A NUMBER 1 :(

I agree, however signing akinfeev or lloris wouldnt solve anything. Because both are good shot stoppers but cant command the area or catch a cross to save their lives. Unfortunatly there just isnt many great keepers about.

All goalkeepers are a risk, make one mistake and the fans say there shit, save a pen and they are the greatest keeper in the world.

I would love one of the german keepers myself, adler neuer. every good team needs a german :D
