I used to respect police...

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

I know what your saying but put it this way; if everybody did what you did 'out of principle' the police would have a huge problem when they could be doing other more important things. I've had the exact same thing happened to me before when I've been pushed and moved on when I had nothing to do with what was going on, just a bystander. But I realised afterwards they don't really have time to stop and talk to everyone to ask them kindly to move on.

Another case of someone with a silly anti police stance gobbing off for no reason then claiming the police to be in the wrong.
You openly admit you could have walked away, but wanted to be Billy Big Bollocks.

Just so you know, the copper wasn't abusing his power. He was doing his job. Something that would be a lot easier if he didn't have idiots getting on his case because they've had a few and think they are untouchable.

No doubt a copper or in a copper family.

The coppers have no right to shove anyone for no reason. In my experience the vast majority are *word censored* who love that small bit of power.

the title suggests that i respected police before this incident. and if you're suggesting that i tried to be billy big bollocks, you must have skipped reading through my entire post.

i don't think i'm untouchable. i wasn't trying to make his job harder. i was merely questionning his unlogical order~

and rightly so. i dont know how these wankers (not that all police are) can go to sleep at night; feeling all high and mighty when they order kids about with stupid orders, and then get on their high horse (PUN 8) ) and threaten people with punishments that completely over the top.

you can't let things like these go. we'll be run by nazi's then!

cesc is god your lucky you didnt fall smack your head and die........because if this had happened loads on here would say you got what was coming to you.

The fact is while coppers in these situation act with aggrssion they are more likely to kick things off(which 95% of them want). They were probably pissed off you didnt lash out so they could give you a smack. But I agree with you. An awful lot of them are on a massive power trip and treat the people they are there to protect as cattle.

Last season I brought my mum to her first game at Asburton Grove. She isnt one for having a pint afterwards so we headed for arsenal tube station after full time. Just where you get past the steps where they tell you to go left from the station as usual was a copper on horse. Smuggly the copper was saying "All animals to the left, animals to the left".....He was fucking looking for someone to react.

I'd imagine it's very difficult to organise, move, re-route and/or stop thousands of people without treating them like cattle.

To be honest, I've been to hundreds of football games and I've never had a problem with the police. Not once! My experiences have been that it's usually the ones who are pissed, angry or just smart arses who can't keep their mouths shut that have the trouble with police.

If the police tell me to stop for traffic... I stop. If they say get off the road, I get off the road. If they say move left, I move left. I never argue with them because it would be pointless (bit like arguing with a referee after being booked - not going to achieve anthing, is it?) and by keeping to those simple rules (obeying the police without question) I've found that I've managed to avoid trouble quite easily.

To be honest g88ner your rite if you avoid them you'll avoid trouble. But by avoid I mean stay a good 500 yards to a mile away, because the chances are one of em wants trouble, so dont give them an excuse to make it you.

But this what they say goes is rubbish. They are there to uphold the law and control traffic and the flow of people. You may have never argued with a copper because you may never have had the need to. But the idea that they are answerable to no one is completley wrong (remember its us tax payers who pay thier wages). The thought that just disagreeing with a copper is incitement is what is wrong with they're mind frame. In the same way it takes one drunk idiot to kick things off, it just takes one up for the ruck copper to do the same.

First year at the grove I was walking towards H&I station on the station side of the road which got busier as I neared the station.

I wanted the other side of the road and hadn't realised fans were being filtered direct into the station. I couldn't go back as I was stuck in a queue so I jumped the barrier, waited for a gap in traffic and walked across the road to the other side.

At this point plod came running across waving for traffic to stop and grabbed my arm ready to put it up my back.

Now tell me what's the fucking problem? Why did he have to act like such a *word censored*. I hadn't broken any laws, I hadn't made cars screech to a halt. So why did he feel compelled to charge across the road and threaten to arrest me on some made up charge of being drunk?

Back in the days of terracing plod liked nothing better than to go steaming in batons waving. I know, I was there and often felt that baton. Power hungry foot soldiers, not an ounce of common sense among them.

Unfortunately in a civilised society there are a necessary evil, how else can we claim on insurance when we've been robbed?

It's like they did it just to cause aggro. They must be ****. That's all I can think of; people who hate gooners, but have an excuse to hit them. Provoke them, they kick off and you get your batton out!
