All teams and players go in cycles. The players we had were damn near one of the best group of players Arsenal FC has ever seen. How many times has any team won the English league title more than 3 times in a row ? As far as I know never. That means when you get that quality, inevitably players move on, retire or just plain "lose it" maybe through to age etc. So this is not specific to Arsene Wenger or the board is it ? It's very hard to replace quality players like for like and retain the same team balance that got you where you were in the first place no ? Yes I agree that it seems that of course since 2005 we have not signed the same calibre of players, but maybe Wenger got it right and the players succeeded where now they have not kicked on as well as he had hoped. Who would have know when we signed Vieira he would go on to be the player he was ? Pires ? Maybe for them see Diaby and Nasri ? Not to say they are replacements as such, but can you see that perhaps they could've developed into (and still could.........) as Vieira and Pires did.

You're right, it's not a family trip to the appliance store. But the principle is the same because surely if we pay "over the odds" for say the ideal DM then will we have to pay "over the odds" for that quality GK we need, and then for the "Big tough" CB ? So before you know it, it's not 1 or 2 million is it, it's 8-10 million we've paid out when realistically we shouldn't have. And has that not become part of the problem with these over inflated transfer fees ? Just look how much it costs to sign any English player now ? So when does it stop ? Do we just join in and not say no, we won't be held to ransom ?

Same issue with Wages no ? Should we just pay out 100k+ per week because that's the normal expected for top players ? What if we still don't win those trophies ? I don't wish to sound like Wenger here, but spending does not equal winning. Look at Man City ? And yet we still finished above them. We all bemoan the fact that Theo is on 65k a week and NB52 50k+ a week. But these players have got us CL football again. Man City on the other hand are paying nearly all the main players over 100k a week and, so far, where has it got them ?

I don't think it's do with the share price. Surely if we were winning trophies year after year the share price would improve no ? So you're saying the board are happy because they get just about enough to keep them happy.

Again you say they retain Mr Wenger because he distracts from them not doing their best on the pitch. But then he's not doing his best by doing that. And I still believe that he would not be able to do this job if he did not feel he was given the best possible chance. It may be that from his own economic background that he feels that he doesn't want clubs to take advantage, and many supporters will say it's not his job to do that. That may be true, but I'd sooner take his approach than that of a Man City with no guarantee of success.

I have this thing called a laptop which allows me to log-on at home!

Besides at home there's usually other stuff to do like CODMW2 (PS3) or other games, FM2010 etc..
Where as at work I can't do any of those so I need some other vice to past the time until 5pm.

George Graham has a record that will stand up on merit to any manager that has ever managed our club

Some fans wax lyrical about wenger on the basis of the invinceables and the football we play but I'm sorry stylish football does not equal success and GG's '91 side lost only 1 game all season (away v chavs) so he could well have had that record long before wenger came along

Of course in latter years GG lost his way and his teams gradually declined and now we are seeing a similar scenario unfolding with wenger

All this uncoditional worship at the alter of wenger really gets on my tits

To fucking right! To be honest Graham is still my fav Manager. We may not of played great football but who gives a fuck when you win the leauge and have a strong defence that bullied teams like mancs,Liver,spuds, chavs. We cant do that now, not even close.
