David Dein Leaves Arsenal FC with Immediate Efffect

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Blimey, just saw this on the BBC website.

Not too sure what to think to tell you the truth.

If he had wanted an American buyer/takeover of the Arsenal, and the rest of the board didn't, what would you rather have? Dein or American owners?

I'm confused. Hill-Wood claims that he and three of the club's major shareholders - Fiszman, Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith and the Carr family - have "no intention of selling". But hasn't Fiszman already sold some of his holding across the Atlantic?

He added: "These people love Arsenal.....". That may well be true, but I thought I'd read somewhere that Lady Nina had no interest in football, and was eager to offload.

So is this just Hill-Wood feeling isolated and effectively forcing the rest of the Board to stand alongside him? Did the Arsenal Board like the idea of the money coming in, but not if Dein gained power or Kroenke gained control?

One thing is for sure - this aint the end of it ....and I'm still unsure what's best for us fans!

Its gotta have something to do with this yank who owns the colorado rapids who we signed that "marketing deal with" its been well publicised in the gutter press that he is intent on a take over of our beloved gooners so i think dein has seen the writing on the wall and thought i'll be fucked if some yee hahh yank is telling me what to do and done one, and as for the clubs official response reassuring fans that they are not going to sell their shares im afraid one phrase springs to mind and that is EVERY MAN HAS HIS PRICE

I hope to god im wrong but my gut instinct says this time next year we will be team arsenal of ashburton grove
