Bendtner
Bendtner
Do we have even less use for him this season? Really his only purpose last season was to bring on a big target man, and he even managed to do that poorly most of the time. Does Chamakh rule out any use for him apart from in case of injury?

As the first-choice striker he ended up being for most of last season he’s miles short of what we need. As most likely our third-choice striker as things stand (at least until the November international break
) he’s really not that bad an option. Chelsea’s third-choice would probably be Sturridge I guess? And Utd’s would probably be Hernandez, who looked good at the WC to be fair but is unproven in the PL for now. So not too bad by comparison to the top 2.

You could be a brilliant player, but your positioning could be terrible. People underestimate the importance of positioning.
Bendtner has literally no skill whatsoever, a terrible first touch and i have never seen him run with the ball. Yet he scored some very important goals, and some of us were glad to see him start ahead of vela eduardo and walcott.

Even if by some miracle we did go a season without injuries, there is no way we could manage it with only two strikers.
Obviously he isn't the best striker in the world, but I think he's a lot better than some give him credit for, and I also think that he will improve with time.
I'm sure that with all 3 fit, Bendtner will get plenty of oportunities in a rotation, and hopefully will continue to come up with vital goals like the ones that earned us many points last season.

Is this the same Bendtner who was our second top scorer last season inspite of being out for over 3 months of the season? Maybe the same Bendtner who demolished Porto at the emirates with a Hat-trick. Could be the same Bendtner who scored 94th minute goals at both Hull away and Wolves at home. He also won the Carling Cup tie against Liverpool with a great strike. Scored a world world class header at Stoke
Bendtner is a much much better player than he gets credit for, he was instrumental in our 6-1 thrashing of Everton last season, he is still only 22 years of Age, he's got 4 years on Chamakh and i really do think he could potentially be a great great player for Arsenal football club.
He might not be everyone's cup of tea, but he's confident, strong, BRILLIANT in the air and offers alot to our side!
