As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Now thats a good idea for when his contract runs out. He would great on that show!
I think Amanda Holden would do a better job than him at Arsenal to be honest haha
Of course I should have said he'd be a judge on 'France has got talent'................because Wenger doesn't believe the British have talent judging by his transfer dealings!!!
The only defence I'll give Wenger, is that many goalkeepers that members of the forum have suggested in the past (Green , Schwarzer , James and even that Lyon & France 'keeper) look just as bad as Almunia whenever I watch them... even that Ajax & Holland 'keeper looked dodgy to me
Akinfeev is probably the same.
The standard of 'keeping is woeful, and that's probably the main reason we've had Almunia for 3 years. Although SURELY there's someone decent avaliable????
Let's be honest, Almunia was bought as a cheap number two and has always looked exactly that. It's criminal how he remains number 1 at Arsenal and it's something that Wenger knows but refuses to deal with. Puzzling isn't the word!
@ mikeyb772001 that is the funniest signature i have seen in a long long time!
on tpoic, AW would be crazy to let Sunderland sign Hart on loan...sneeky £8m bid and he'd be ours, although i can't see that happening.
On the other hand i cant see Hart wanting to go on loan to Sunderland, yes he will get first team footy whilst Gordon is out injured but as soon as Gordon returns Hart then ends up as a number 2 at another club.

If we got him it would probably only be a half season loan (they still owe us for us giving them the not actually any good Marton Fulop on loan when they were short on keepers). Gordon is out for three months so that takes us to around November time and, if we had Hart, we could let Gordon properly recover, and ease him back into the side, allowing Hart to play for most of the first half of the season, and then sending him back to City in January. Gordon will need to have a plate of some sort in his arm permanently as this is his second break in exactly the same position, so it would make sense to not rush him back
Anyway, I havent heard any rumours about it and doubt it will happen, but now given is back it is always possible that city would let hart leave for a while, they'd certainly never sell him though

Mignolet has done fairly well in pre season but has admitted himself that he doesnt know whether he is ready for an extended run in the PL. What I wouldnt want to do is rush the lad straight into the side and expect him to stay there for at least 3 months- all it would take is a bad run of form and it could finish him. I think it would make more sense to get someone else in for 3 months and do what we intended to with Mignolet (play him in the league cup, give him some reserve games and, if the first choice keeper gets a knock or a suspension, let him play one or two games in the first team. I don't think a 3 month run would benefit the lad too much. Certainly seems a good prospect though
