Walcott is a very useful player to have in the squad. Not to be a 1st team regular or anything like that but he offers a different option to what we have. Pass, pass, pass, isn't working today - there you go Theo run onto that ball in behind, there you go Theo run past the full back with the ball.
Pace along with reasonable finishing may be all he has but when his acceleration is on a different level to any other player on the planet to play this role he doesn't need a lot more. Other teams are terrified of his pace and it gives us more space to play in if it doesn't work itself.
I think that you can't really complain about a lack of variety in our play and then when we have a player who can't do any of what the others can but offers another dimension to the extreme slag him off for only having that.
Essentially what I'm saying is stop comparing him to the superstar it was thought he would be when we signed him and just see what he offers. Which is not a lot, but enough to be a very useful Plan B.

He doesn't know when to pass, when to take on the defender or when to cross. His only real use at present is putting him on to scare less than pacey full backs but how much longer will that continue before he is found out for the fairly average player he is?
It's a real shame but I honestly don't think the lad will ever be top level.

Charlie isn't even on here and you're still ripping the piss out of him!

Guess that shows where his priorities lay. There are always disappointments in football, this was my biggest one yet.

Well coupled with his "My main ambition is the World Cup" quote from back in February, it's pretty clear that his priorities are in the wrong place.I Hate Hleb wrote:Does it really?Bring Back Pires wrote:Walcott on being left out of the World Cup squad:Radford149 wrote:radford has just seen the current bun and who's on the front page .........master walnut, say-no-more

Just who wouldn't feel gutted about being left out of the World Cup squad when they were considered by most to be a shoo-in?
How about coming out and saying his main ambition is to suceed with Arsenal, y'know, the club that pays him every single week. I never heard him say how disappointed he was after the 2-2 Birmingham draw, for instance.

It is not clear at all, as Rigsby points out.Bring Back Pires wrote:Well coupled with his "My main ambition is the World Cup" quote from back in February, it's pretty clear that his priorities are in the wrong place.I Hate Hleb wrote:Does it really?Bring Back Pires wrote:Walcott on being left out of the World Cup squad:Radford149 wrote:radford has just seen the current bun and who's on the front page .........master walnut, say-no-more

It is just newspaper spin.
Most players desperately want to win (odd exception such as Adebayor in his final season when he gave up caring) , it is just that in some cases they are next to clueless as to how to do so (i.e. Diaby).
That fault is Wenger's. Not the board's.
Wenger's.
He has failed to use a defensive coach worth his salt since Keown left end of 2006 season, and it shows.

The Written Word Is A Lie!
"there are guys the same age as me out there fighting in wars and not coming home. Parents, wives, husbands - they are getting calls saying their loved ones won't be coming back. It puts it into perspective"
radford weeps at the state of the mordern footballer and no doubt we will have another spread in hello or ok magazine soon.

Again, what exactly is wrong with what he said, eh Mr Third Person? If anything, it shows that disappointed though he is, it's nothing compared to what others have suffered.
Rate him or not, Theo is nothing like the archetypal modern day footballer that doesn't care about anything but the money he earns, the latest fashion accessory he can buy or pretty bird he can pull that you portray him to be!!

Why was Walnutt disappointed not to be going to the world cup?.Did he really believe he played well for us last season? Wonder if he cried when we won fuck all again
He is lucky to be still at the club when in four years he is still not a regular starter. He's just a sprinter
