As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Philippe Mexes è di nuovo nei desideri dell'Arsenal.
Phillippe Mexes is again desired by Arsenal.
According to the English papers (?), having lost Gallas, Silvestre and Campbell, the Gunners are on a search (?) for a central defender and the choice of Arsene Wenger, would seem to be the French 28 year old defender of Roma, whose evaluation would have be around 11 million Euros.
Mexes, dal canto suo, dopo sei anni nella capitale, sarebbe attratto da un'esperienza all'estero, in Spagna o Inghilterra, e l'offerta dei Gunners potrebbe convincerlo a fare le valigie.
Mexes, after six years in the capital, would find an experience abroad attractive, either in Spain or England, and the offer of the Gunners could convince him to pack his bags.
Well something like that!!!
close Hlebby, but I'm fairly sure it's a recipe for spaghetti?!

ok if you say he's not good enough, i don't know 'cause i don't see him for around 3 years, but not big enough?? he's exactly as tall as john terry, 1,87m, and only one centimeter shorter than sol campbell... that's not exactly a db10gooner, you have to agree with me...
If u ask me, he's a great center back. Not the typical British center back, but he's not that small (he's 6ft2 and quite aggressive).
His main strength is his passing and his technical ability, he's a real libero.
I haven't seen him play for a while. But I used to watch him play a lot when he was playing for Auxerre

Did you see much of that Kjaer guy Hlebby? I don’t really watch Italian football so I only saw him play the once for Palermo (your team?) against Inter & then the WC obviously. He looked a good player but 4 games is hardly conclusive proof. Just seems a bit weird that for all the hype & at a reasonable fee he ended up at Wolfsburg.
Have to admit that he didn't stand out enough for me to remember him prior to his fairly impressive appearances in the World Cup. Even then, it would mainly have been on Italian Television MOTD type highlights programmes and football round-up shows - albeit a much more comprehensive version than we suffer.
Although it was only Kjaer's second season playing for Palermo (who by the way are not my team - I'm a gooner!!! ), he was highly rated by the fans there and they were sad to see him leave.

That's why we haven't asked you Vince!!
Mexes is 6ft 2in? Really? I think wikipedia might be exsaggerating again!! Now he might well be a 'technically good libero' but that is not what we need right now. Arsenal have enough of those. We need a mean nasty 6ft 4inch centre half - no ifs, buts of maybes!!
Arsène Wenger is still pondering which goalkeeper will he his No 1 for the forthcoming season.
The Arsenal manager has also revealed that one of his four shotstoppers will head out on loan this season. But he is yet to decide who that will be
"Still players fight for their place," he said. "Tomorrow Fabianski has another opportunity to show that he can play No 1.
"Wojciech is a goalkeeper of huge quality. At the moment we want to play for the title so I believe he needs some more experience to compete directly for the first goalkeeper position.
"But it depends a little bit. We have four goalkeepers, one of them will go out on loan, three have to stay so we do not know yet who will go out."

so that's that then, no new goalkeeper.
Ive just read that on the site and It made me quite angry! What a load of bullshit! Wenger should be a politician with all his pre season mumbo jumbo then serious backpeddaling!
