As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Not sure if this has been mentioned or if it's recent...
I was at the grove on Sat getting presents in the Armory. Walking around the ground I noticed one end of the Highbury mural was fenced off. As I neared the barriers I could see it had been defaced.
I'm not one to advocate violence or destruction but I did chuckle when I saw which player had there face stabbed. (punctured)....... Cashley
I also noticed this and found it hilarious! I have got a photo on my iPhone but have no idea how to put in on here! This site is by far the most complicated to post images on![/img]
As much as its amusing to some people, i think its terrible that it has been defaced like this.
No matter what we think of Ashley Cole, he was an invincible and deserves the right to be on that mural. I think this act of vandalism is a shame and feel sorry for the people who have to fix it knowing he will be slashed again.
Needless vandalism on a really fine mural....shameful

Hmmm, I've got to say that I agree, I can't stand Cashley but this just isn't Arsenal class...

i agree. he is a *word censored* and we all know and will always remember that. there is no need to spoil a beautiful mural.
if not for the simple fact that vandalism is never a nice thing, it is wrong because now people's attention will be more than ever caught to cashley - when the other way around should be happening - he must be forgotten, not remembered.
It'd be good if the club just put him blank like some of the early players have where there is no photo available...do the same to Adebayor and Stapleton too, these players acted like classless pricks and don't deserve to be on there.

I agree with what your saying Sammy but he is probably one of the top ever hated players and putting his photo was bound to cause a reaction amongst some people. I think they should of just airbrushed him out because its just going to happen again. Imagine they put Adebayors photo somewhere, it would be defaced every single game.
people need to get over the cashley thing and get a life. he's a dickhead, fine. live with it and concentrate your energies into something positive. if people backed the team with as much passion as they hate cole, then we would have won a couple of trophies since he left...
Steady on there gooner.ed? You're not one of those so called 'rose-tinters' are you?
It's not as if that extra support from the fans would make Al or Flappy more commanding of their box; or mean our Centre-Halves start playing like a partnership rather than individuals; of enable the likes of the full-backs/Theo to cross the ball more accurately; or even help Denilson to pass the ball forward more often (I think you get the point!!!)
Although on a more serious note, I do agree that people need to get over their hatred of our former left back, especially if it leads to actions like what happened to the mural.
