what the 'experts' think 2010-2011

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Surprised so many rate us but then they all had us dropping out the top four last season and then looked stupid so i'd put it down to back-tracking.

Last summer I genuinely thought the squad, for their faults, had trained hard and got rid of the bad eggs and opening day against Everton looked up for the fight. With the World Cup, the Barca stuff and the lack of signings again (i did think keeping Cesc might prompt AW to spend), this summer has felt really disjointed and as if there hasn't been time to get everyone together and fired up, regardless of obvious squad weaknesses. In short, I have none of my usual opening weekend optimism.

Almunia for instance is decent but nothing more. But for us he's awful, terrible, the worst goalkeeper in the league.

We overhype things because we're fans. Most people outside of Arsenal would see we have the best attack in the country and we have spent well on two good players, and have a chance.

One was a free transfer... the other, 8-10 mill on an unproven centre back.... Hmmm.... :? :?

He must be referring to the guaranteed £30 odd mill Wenger just bagged today

Got three strikers, one who has never completed a full season for us, one who is Nicklas Bendtner and Chamakh.
An attack that can boast a hatfull of goals consistently in league campaigns and is by far and away one of the best attacking sides in the Premiership - no Arsenal fan can ignore that fact, not a sane one anyway.

The same Bendtner who carried us with 11 goals in 13 games in Jan? Including a Champions League Hattrick, a goal at the Nou Camp and some very important winning goals? He isnt world class by any stretch but as a 3rd/4th choice striker he is well up there as a great option.

I dont disupte the obvious weak points our squad has, but you don't half talk some rubbish, your very very overcritical.

Do Arsenal have a chance of winning the league? Yes

Will we? I think we all agree we are two players away, so by default the rest of the squad must be ok, so we can't be a half bad team can we?

Chelsea: Benyaoun, Lampard, Mikel, Malouda, Essien, Drogba, Kalou, Annelka

Utd: Scholes, Giggs, Nani, Anderson, Carrick, Rooney, Berbatov

City: Yaya, Silva, Bellamy, Ireland, Johnson, Wright-Phillips, Barry, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Adebayor

Are you telling me seriously that our 'attack' is better than any of the above both in terms of numbers and quality?

We haven't been top scorers since the 2005 season. We have a decent attack but not the best.
