Does anyone know if the Arkles pub has car park or do most people park at Everton and walk through Stanley park?

Also, is it deemed 'safe' to wear colours? I normally go on supporters coach but have now decided to drive.

Cheers

Jay

Could be wrong but I seem to remember a post on here from last season when we played Everton, where the advice was not to walk through Stanley Park as that was where you were more likely to get jumped upon/robbed by the local scally-wags. Perhaps that was only because it was a early evening game? :?

However, I do know that in the late 70's and early 80's especially, it wasn't the most pleasant of grounds to visit and that there would be a 'crew' of Evertonians looking to ambush the opposition fans. Man Utd fans got that treatment last season, if I remember correctly? And I'm sure some of their fans haven't forgotten the incidents at our ground a couple of seasons ago!!

Anyway, just be careful out there and it's probably best to keep your colours covered until you're inside the ground!! 8)

I second what IHH says above

Dont be blaise about the area the grounds are in..the Scallies ...why are they called that? yep they will try anything to make it a harsh place

Stick to the path and dont go off into the moors and the werewolf wont get you!!!

Honestly my concern ahead of tommorrow is midfield or the lack of it.

I think we have tended to forget how badly we need at least one more quality defnsive mid-fielder , even if only as cover for Song. And karma bites us in the ass before the first match even as he is serious doubt and we haven't gotten that defensive mid-fielder.

Why I would love to see young Jack out there I shudder at the prospect of Frimpong or - even worse - Denilson again as our holding mid-fielder.

Frimpong has the makings of a very good player after a few good viewings. My worry is he simply isn't ready yet, and we can't afford that just now. Unless he is another Vieira or Cesc - players who actually were ready at 19to have a real impact in the first team - its an unfair to him as it is to us to hope he can do what we need him to do against Liverpool in the Premiership at Anfield.

It will be yet another case of the youth system and the first team being one and the same and all too oftne that philosophy has haunted us since 2005. Someday he may be a world-class holding mid-fielder and real star but unless he's already there its just foolish to put that much resposibility on the lad's shoulders this soon. We aren't West Ham - are we?

If we are signing a new keeper i don't think Almunia is going to want to play in goal and we are going to see Flappyhandski...
