LIVERPOOL AWAY THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Clichy had better improve
Clichy does need to improve...hoping Gibbs gets a chance against perhaps the lesser teams to get him into the team...Blackpool anyone?
NO - any mistakes could lead to dropping points and dropping points against Blackpool would immediately put us under massive pressure and turn the supporters on the team completely. Clichy has been poor but should be alright here, and once we get a mice win under our belts to get Sunday out of us we should be okay.

Did anyone else notice how on Sky Sports commentary Andy Gray had a little dig at us by saying something like 'If it had been the other way round the response would be different' after I think Wilshere went it hard on Mascherano? I used to love Gray but here's another one making us out to be a load of moaning ballerinas, when we've had 2 leg breaks in 3 years and another one a couple of years before that. IMO Joe Cole's tackle wasn't that bad, but we were lucky Koscielny didn't sustain damage that would've kept him out for months at least. Pundits/commentators and their fucking contradictory double-standards must die.

I think you misunderstood and that the point Gray was making was that certain players have a reputation that precedes them and that had Mascherano made the same tackle, he would most likely have been booked.

It wasn't a pop at Arsenal or Wilshere, but more an observation and, if we're being honest, an axiom/truism we're all aware of. Ironically, the Argentinian made about 7 fouls of varying degrees and wasn't booked!!  As our American cousins would say - go figure!!!!
