BLACKPOOL GAME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

With Nasri out, if Cesc isn’t ready to start yet I’d be tempted to play Arshavin in the middle. After lighting a rocket under his arse first obviously. Doubt we’ll see that though. It’ll either be 2 up front (RVP/Chamakh) which I’d have no problem with or it’ll be Diaby in the ACM role - which I would.

Diaby-Song-Wilshere could work, too.

Would you rather see Song slip into CB and have no DMF (or at least not one who can do the job) or have Song in his usual DMF position with either Nordtveit or Djourou (if fit) to partner TV5?

Song at centre-back, cos djourou is an accident waiting to happen

He could also play Sagna at centre back and Eboue right back.
Have Theo on that side as well with Eboue which started becoming the norm towards the end of last season at home. Not ideal but Sagna has played there before.

Do we not have any players that could 'do a job for us' there?

Arshavin Lord Percy Chammers

Rosicky Song Fabregas

Not a bad team in all honesty, no need to start crying yet.

Ha ha! Well you can be if you want! Although that would make you Sir Percy

Just a Blackadder joke that me and a mate share, which I've neglected to mention before posting my last message! Coincidence actually, didn't see you above that post!

Song at centre-back, cos djourou is an accident waiting to happen
My thought is that Song would provide the extra cover for the CB's therefore theoretically reducing the likelihood of a mistake (or accident as you put it  ) happening. With Song at CB that provides little to no cover in midfield for when its needed (and it will be - no matter who the opposition).
