Squillaci on his way to Arsenal???

Squeel-lachy.
exactly

his nikname is "Toto" Squillaci, like the italian striker.
Wikipedia begs to differ:

Sébastien Squillaci (French pronunciation: [sebastjɑ̃ skilatʃi])

Excellent, let's wrap this up and get onto signing a keeper (and maybe another CB or DM while I'm hoping).

Well Sevilla have made it official, Squillaci will have a medical tomorrow... Not excited about that signing (hope I'm proved wrong though) ... And yet again a frenchie (nothing against that but Wenger seems to only scout Ligue 1 and french players)...

If we're going to have a 30+ player in defence, we may as well have kept Gallas and saved us from wasting £6.5m.

I really don't get that he won't offer a 30-year old more than one year, but happily snaps them out and splashes a relatively large sum in the process.

I'd much rather he'd spent £6.5m on a goalkeeper and kept Gallas there.

And I'm not even a massive Gallas fan, particularly. Just seems odd that for a club that doesn't like spending, when we finally get to do so, it's on an over-the-hill nobody who will probably be done in about two years time.

He had 30 this summer, Gallas is 33. It's not really the same
And again, he's not a nobody.

HE is a strange one. Hes never played a lot of games for one club itself, around 360-400 games overall which is pretty good but he has never been stable. He has played for france though.

Maybe he is going to be the backup for kos.

Again, moaning for the sake of moaning.

This 'nobody' you speak of, has won more trophies than our entire squad combined together.

Also, he's not 'over-the-hill'. 30 is a great age for a CB. You ask for experience, then you moan when we get a player who's experienced.

To add to this, you've got to also take into account the styles of both players, ie Gallas is a pace player who relies on his recovery pace and speed. When you consider both his age and frequency of his injuries he's obviously done at the top level.

Whereas Squillaci relies on his strength, game reading and aerial ability. He's a physical player whose game is not based on athleticism. As I mentioned above, 30 is a great age for a CB just look at the likes of John Terry and Lucio - both in their 30's and at the peak of their game.

A lot of my Chav mates say, and I agree, that Terrycunt's been shit since the Scolari era.

Can't argue with Lucio though.

Scolari had an era?

I think a 30 y-o is exactly the right thing. I don't know the guy but he's got recent European experience which is good, which provides a great foil for TV and Kos.

It was clear that Gallas had split the dressing room and needed to be got rid of, his time has ended. As Perry Groves said on Friday night, it's a genius move by Wenger. Sending a Spy into the midst of your mid-sized neighbours down the road with a clear intention to disrupt their team ethic. Genius move by Wenger
