Schwarzer joining tomorrow?

I have to disagree, he is steaks ahead of any keeper at the club at the moment, he is 37 so you really have to be tight with negotiations.

I agree Id much prefer us going in for a Given, It has always been Wenger worst department getting in the rite keeper, and it seems to continue. We should have got schwarzer when he left boro, or given when he left newcastle.

Lets just hope what ever happenes were not left with just almunia and fabianski!!!!!!!

But you didn't. I understand your point bren and I know that he is better than what we got at the moment, but are we now a club that just settles for someone that is mediocre for us? We shouldn't be just "settling" for someone to fill a "gap". FFS we should have people lining up to play for us.

I disagree as in I think he's top quality. And probably one of the top 4 keepers in the premier league.

If he signs, I hope he proves me wrong, but I seriously doubt he is one of the top 4 keepers in the league. I would go as far as to say he isn't even in the top ten, but better than the clowns we have.

If you'd like to name the top ten above him, I'd love to hear that list.

I'd give you all of em but VDS and Howard.

Cannot see how Jaaskelainen is still at fucking Bolton.

Nor Given. We're moaning about problems with crosses and yet we want to sign a short arse who never comes to catch crosses. Better than what we have fair enough but Schwarzer will do more for our defensive problems by virtue of his size allowing him to claim more in the air.

I dont think I have seen Schwarzer conceed 6 goals against a team that just came up from the champioship, bearing in mind Villa have a better defence.

Given concerns about Given's shoulder and Steckelenburg may be cup tied from playing in the champions league, I think we should go for Schwarzer
