THE PROJOE TOTALLY POINTLESS TRANSFER RUMOUR THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I defy anyone to turn Wengers statement that we have FOUR great keepers at the club into a positive :banghead:

So we would have started the season with 3 center backs 1 of which is back from a 1yr lay off and dont get me started on the goalies  . Borderline stupidity :x
what a silly and knee jerk statement to make....how in anyway can you say that by AW saying the window should close (domestically) before the championship fixtures commence that we would have gone into this season with the 3 CB? he was purely making an educated statement which makes sense. if the window did close sooner then he would have done his business sooner, but gievn that he says internationally it is right to remain open till 31st August you have made yourself look silly!!

i get the impression no matter what AW says some people will always find a reaosn to turn it into negative dribble!!!
This isnt the first summer he has made a statement like that, you would know this if you listened to what he says as oppossed to day dreaming when you see him on tv.

Any takers of this challenge? There has to be one Wenger fan who will still stick by him on this crazy fucked up comment. If we dont sign a keeper then Wenger desrves all the abuse he will get. Idiot man!

Wenger is clearly not going to come out and say the keepers he has are rubbish, he's obviously on the look out for a keeper but while we don't have one he has to keep the keepers who are there spirits up.

He's wrong about the Keepers, but thats another story altogether.

If I were Almunia, instead of standing around with a face on being miserable, I'ld use this as motivation to improve and prove a point. The fact he hasn't shows how poor a Keeper he is

So, Wenger is churning out the same mantra by saying that the purchasing of another keeper will ''undermine'' the current crop that we have...??

So, bidding for another team's rival goalkeeper (twice) doesn't have this affect???

Fucking hell, if we don't buy a keeper, I would rather he just sticks Szczesny in, at least with the promise and his young age, he will get a fair crack of the whip from the supporters.

This is why one should NEVER use the same username, avatar and sig in multiple forums.

I cant turn it into a positive but i think i can explain why he might say it despite not necessarily believing it?

It's called being a manager and not a fan

Until last season i always thought that despite not being the best keeper in the world Almunia was decent enough, he just didnt have the defensive unit infront of him to build any momentum as a steady keeper. Suffice as to say whatever almunia had going for him had clearly vacated the building last season.

I think Wenger knows this, why he has left it until so late in the window to do anything about it i cannot say but i still believe somebody is coming in. If nothing has happened by 5pm on tuesday then by all means dig this post up and publically shame me

Anyone else ever see the Star Trek episode with a character of that name?
