Post by DERRY GOONER »

when ashed 2day on sky sprts football special, all 4 said man ure would still win the title, as did the 2 ex pool *word censored* on motd. 2 be fair matt le tiss said he hoped arsenal would win it. im glad there all saying ma ppo r gonna win it, cause it makes it all the sweeter when we DO WIN IT. all the same id just like 2 hear 1 pundit saying arsenal will win the thing.

still thing man u are favourites as do the bookies,,
they have a bigger squad and while we do have a chance this season a lot still depends on injuries suspensions etc..
so still hoping they fuck up more then we do and remember chelsea are only 6 behind and we still have to go there

All true, and any sensible pundit probably would still pick United as title favourites. The Chavski scum continue to do well but they'll be badly affected by the African Nations and have lots of injuries, so hopefully they'll drop a few points soon. Liverpool are still there but I don't think anyone believes they'll finish on top. United have a great defence, two world class players playing well (Ronaldo and Tevez) and one (Rooney) that could yet find form.

But despite all the predictions, we're still there. What's more, we have a good run of games between now and mid-March, so there's a chance we could go into the final stage of the season still at or very near the top. That said, that final period has some really tough fixtures in it (I think including away to United and Chelsea and home to Liverpool), but at the very least we could be in the hunt right to the end. And that's with a squad a lot of members of this forum, like most of the pundits, don't think is good enough.

My advice, keep as much free time as possible in April and early May.

If I were to be totally honest I would have to agree that Manure are still more likely to win it. I want us to win it and do believe we can, I just think that they have a little more than us.

When we play poorly we get a draw (newcastle away) but when they play poorly they still manage a right lucky win. It's a bit like Chavski. I thought a draw yesterday and then they get a 50/50 penalty near the end.

With our team, as excellent as they are - and love them as I do, they sometimes run out of ideas and drop their heads a little. You don't see that from Manure this year.

If Eddy can find a run of form that he has seen over the last couple of games then I think that he may be a saviour this year. We waste chances (Ade needs five to score one) too often but Eddy seems to be calm to the point of clinical in the box.

We create more chances per game than any other team in the league. If we can turn them into goals then Manure have no chance but until then I think they will just edge us out of it. :(

I agree Spudmasher.
According to Wenger Eduardo is our Robbie Fowler!

i firmly believe if man ure suffered the injuries we had for 2-4 games in dec 2 their better players all at once they would struggle. take, ronaldo, alone out of that team, and 40% or more of their goals/assists dry up. hopefully somebody like micheal ball, or some other clown take him out soon, and hes out for a long period of time. they cant replace him.

talking about the 2 squads, they definitly, have more strength in depth at the back, and with their goalkeepers. in the middle, and up front i believe, we r more than a match for them. i mean with u rather have fletcher or denilson, park or diaby, hargreaves or diarria?? up front, they have rooney, tevez and saha. we have ade, rob, dudu, and nik. id take dudu over saha any day. keep the faith.

I think Man Utd have to be favourites due to their experience at the back end of the season. However, I firmly believe that if someone would do us the favour of breaking Ronaldo's leg they would drop away really quite quicly. If there is a one-man-team in the country then it's Man Utd.

NOTHING WRONG WITH BELIEVING THE FIRST PART BUT I CAN'T AGREE WITH THE HIGHLIGHTED SENTENCE. IF THAT WERE TRULY THE CASE, WHY HAVE THEY LOST 3 GAMES THIS SEASON WHILE WE'VE ONLY LOST THE ONE?

Yes, and we played poorly at Portsmouth and Everton and picked up 4 points (including a 4-1 thrashing along the way), whereas ManUre played poorly against West Ham and got justifiably beaten.
