i've come in at the end of this and i've only a vague idea which thread this started with (where c**t was edited).

however, just to clarify my own position on this. i don't like seeing the word in its full form in a thread title. so that is the policy as the buck stops with me.

any moderators reading this, edit it down to something like c**t or c*** in thread titles, but don't bother going through threads changing it. there aren't enough hours in the day, but i'd prefer not to see it leaping off of the page on the threads list.

the gooner has a policy of censoring this word in the issue as the publisher feels it is worse than 'normal' swearwords, and i'm inclined to agree. in my own language i'll use f**k on occasion but i don't use the 'c' word. i do feel it is worse.

these things are entirely subjective of course, but given the amount of licence generally allowed on this forum, please try and refrain from using the word unedited in thread titles. Use c**t with asterisks if you really need to

Yep sorry Ed I only realised after that I hadn't actually highlighted which thread I was referring to but as you probably now realise it was the Alan Smith thread hence why I used the word in the first place because it has a unique meaning and fits him perfectly - but anyways come on, own up who done it???

Belfast boy - It was me that edited it because when I took on the role of moderator this was one of the things that I was asked to do. Whenever I saw the word I edited it. The only difference this time is that you were a moderator too. So therefore maybe I should have e-mailed you/the Ed rather than just edited.

Now if I had a pound for everytime you lot used the word

It's ok Dicko, I'd pretty much guessed anyway but didn't want to throw accusations around, I also understand, and to a certain extent agree with your reasons for editing the word cos as I said before it's not a word I want nor find the need, to use very often, and I certainly don't wanna see it in your face style for the same reasons Ed has already covered, plus it's more suited to the Spuds' forum, but unfortunately Alan Smith qualifies for reasons too many to list - but bein a mod I s'pose I should exercise a little restraint, so I'll delete in future ok
