Sagna should've been there, but he wasn't. Koscielny, having successfully covered his position, still takes responsibility for doing fuck all and allowing Blackburn to easily negoatiate a goal.

I agree, poor half from Kos. He should have slid in immediately, but let him run past him. Maybe the red card vs. Liverpool still in his mind? No excuse though.

Much, much much better second half from Kos.. won loads in the air, quick to snuffle out attacks on the floor.

Be fair to the lad its his second game in English football against one of the most phsyical sides we will play all season.

Tough test, we came through it. Hopefully he can continue to improve and play much more like his second half performance consistantly.

He did ok today but got raped in the air and was absolutely woeful for their goal

It wasnt just that he didnt slide in but he was physically bullied off the ball by scumbag diouf (

) and appeared to lacl pace to recover

I remember reading comments praising him matching torres for pace in scouseland and maybe today would suggest a more accurate reflection. Anyway it is early days and I am not writing him off yet and it will take time for him to adapt to our league but I still feel that himself and tv5 will not make a suitable partnership in much the same way as gallas and tv5 didnt

What I dislike about this guy is that he seldom makes a sliding tackle. Could have cost us today with his naivety.

It's early days but there are some worrying signs - no pace at all, pushed off the ball VERY easily and his passing is awful. Hopefully he'll improve or he'll become another Silvestre.

I thought Koscielny's mistake was in trying to win the ball instead of just jockeying and holding up Diouf out wide, while our players dropped back. The Blackburn player waited for him to get alongside and attempt a tackle, pushed the ball past him and then beat our new signing for pace (although admittedly, Diuof is no slouch).

To be fair, Kos did have a better second half and I agree with what someone previously wrote that with time, he will get better. Yet I'm still worried that people are getting their 'work experience' in our actual first team and 'learning on the job' rather than being the finished article that's ready to step in and have an impact immediately.

I also think Clichy is partially responsible for the conceded goal because, despite being aware of the eventually goalscorer (the other Diouf from Man Utd), who was free and running down his side, he switched off his attention from that guy to concentrate on where the 'spitting' Diouf might cross the ball.

This left the 'goalscoring' Diouf unmarked and free to run across the six yard box and slot the ball in from a central position, with the 'temporarily distracted' Clichy unaware he was even there until it was too late.

As a fan of clichy I thought that he was very poor today

His positioning for their goal was shocking especially for a player as experienced as he is and I felt that too often he hesitated going to the ball thus allowing their scumbags to gain possession. He really has to pick up his game and fast cos imo that has been 2 dodgy performances in 3 games

I had my doubts, but WE WON !!

Blackburn away is one of our banana skins of the season and WE WON, 3 points !!

Kos' made 1 real mistake, but helped to keep them out for the remainder of the game and it's only his 2nd prem' match and we still WON

Great spirit from the lads. A real confidence booster.

And we stuck it up big Sam. ( The prick ! )

100% this. All Koscielny needed to do was angle his run so it cut off the route to goal, instead of running straight at the player. Thatâ€™s basic defending-for-dummies 101 stuff - angle your run between the player/ball & the near post. It was like how when kids play they all swarm towards the ball like a moth to a flame.

None of our defenders, including the better ones, seem to know anything about jockeying, or covering runs etc. Either weâ€™ve bought the only defenders in the world who werenâ€™t taught that at 10 years old or theyâ€™ve been told to do otherwise. They all always seem to be in too much of a rush to win the ball back so they dive in.

Still, a win is a win is a win.
