Robin Van Persie
Robin Van Persie
Can we really count on him? Is he damaged goods? Can we seriously challenge for trophies without him? Would we buy new striker in january?
Re: Robin Van Persie
We can count on him when hes fit, but we need our strongest 11 in every game to challenge for trophies, of which Van Persie is one of those 11, doubt very much Wenger would buy a new striker in Janskipper wrote:Can we really count on him? It's not just Van Persie, but Bendtner as well.
Both, over recent seasons, having proved to be injury prone and unreliable and I'm sure it's little surprise to any of us that both of them are injured, as they were for much of last season, too.
It's certainly a huge risk to go into a season with Chamakh, Van Persie and Bendtner as your only strikers. Unless, of course, Theo and/or Vela prove they can fill the role.
Either way, it's a risk.

Spot on, it was always going to be a big risk with only Van Persie, Chamakh and Bendtner as strikers, what with Van Persies injury record, Chamakh unproven and Bendtner just shit. That is nowhere near a strong enough attack, especially with Walcott being hit and miss and personally I dont think Vela is strong enough or good enough. It aint so bad if as they say Van Persie is out for just 2 weeks as theres no prem games next saturday, but if he got injured for say 2-3 months again then we would be fuckedg88ner wrote:It's not just Van Persie, but Bendtner as well.

what concerns me most is fact that he didn't even get a knock yesterday...GoonerN5 wrote:Spot on, it was always going to be a big risk with only Van Persie, Chamakh and Bendtner as strikers, what with Van Persies injury record, Chamakh unproven and Bendtner just shit. He's looked really good so far and seems to be propping up a lot more in central positions, he's determined as hell to prove people wrong and he's making a good start, hopefully he'll carry it on.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:about a month ago I would have laughed at that1989 wrote:Don't worry, we've got Theo.![]()
But on RVP he is a class player but he's injury prone. But imo Chamakh is a good back-up player to have in case RVP breaks down

No pleasing some people :p I think Arsenal has a strong attack, we just have to hope for the best from Robin. A small setback could be expected after so much football in the last year, coupled with his body just getting used to the rigors of the Prem again. Chamakh is solid, I think he'll prove great.
