RvP out for "At least a few weeks".

Really hope Wenger gets in another striker now, maybe Huntelaar on loan?

This `few weeks` will turn into a `few months`.

Ive said this before, and Ill say it again - Arsene deliberately plays down injuries so that he doesnt have to sign another player.

When he does come back into the team just before the next transfer window opens, Arsene will say that having RvP back is like having another signing.

With the state of our goalkeeper situation - I somehow don't see AW splashing the cash (especially at this late stage) on a new/another striker...I wish it were different but AW just won't spend any more money on any player/s, or positions....

Van Persie signed for Arsenal in 2004

Arsenal have played 231 Premier League matches since he signed.

Van Persie has played a part in 137 of those games.

That means he has missed 94 matches in the LEAGUE

Which means on average since signing, Robin Van Persie has missed 16 Premier League matches per season.
Meaning he has played just 22 matches roughly a season because of injury

22 out of 38 matches per season.......

In addition he has scored 48 Premier League goals which works out at a goal nearly every three games.
If you work out that ratio of 2.85 matches p[layed per goal he will have scored a further 45 goals in the games he has missed.

Thats nearly an extra eight goals per season in the League which can be attributed to 8 winners...that were games drawn or lost...so we could say an extra 20 points a season......how many titles in the last 6 seasons could we have had if RvP had stayed as fit as our rival strikers?

I am sorry but that is not good enough and i really do think that if he has another season like that we should offload him.

Why's that then? Not every goal he's scored for us thus far has been a winner, so why should these hypothetical goals necessarily all be winners?

Also, where's the stats on the performances of strikers who've replaced RVP when he's missed games? Because surely their goals should be taken off our record, and the points gained deducted from our final points tallies.

bbp

Its a lame theory but its one that makes sense in one respect.
The facts are simple and based on those facts the hypothesis is there.
I know that the 8 goals per season idea doesnt mean 8 winners, but imagine in the context of winning titles it did.......

As for the games he has missed and the number of goals scored....well that would take me an age to work out, but all i know is...22 matches on average per season is not indicitive to winning titles as the main outlay of goals scored.

It's all sadly inevitable Sid. Arsenal and injuries just go hand in hand especially RVP. I expect to see him back around Christmas, play a few games and then miss the rest of the season.

3 games in and Nasri, RVP and Bendtner all long term absentees already. FARCE.

Will Wenger make the same mistake YET AGAIN and fail to sign cover up front? Of course he fu**ing will because he's a cock of the highest order. He'll tell us that we don't need anyone because Theo is playing so well and having Billy Bendtner back will be like a new signing.

It's time to give up on rvp, to base your attack around a player who spends the best part of the season is ridiculous, and it's not as if he doesn't have "previous"
But hey this is Wengerworld, where we all live in fucking fantasy land.
