Fulham's Stockdale Injured - Schwarzer deal definitely off?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It's not just the weak positions, I think this team has a massive mental block when it comes to winning big games/performing when it matters/holding onto leads/doing what they've prepared for for years/being consistent etc.

Last season, we lost four big four meetings and away to spuds, beat liverpool three times but only by a one-goal margin each time, even though alot of the time other big four teams beat us by comfortable 2 or 3. Not to mention all the previous seasons since the invincibles left, so many to mention, so many failures.

Its no big loss if we sign a keeper in the next 3 hours. If not we are stuck with the two clowns who will never win us the title

:finger:
And do you think Schwarzer would win us the title?

You know what's depressing the spuds just signed a keeper to be their 3rd choice and he shits on all the clowns we've got. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

We've done some good business this summer, be great if we can get a Keeper to add to this. Think Fulham are holding out to sign a Keeper. Wenger is still in the market it seems, so perhaps we should all wait and see till we all start jumping on him again.

I would be astonished if we don't sign a Keeper this summer, could well cost Wenger his job.

I didnt say Schwarzer would. What i do know on the evidence of the last 3 years is Almunia and Flappy will make enough mistakes to stop us even having a chance.

Might aswell play Schezney in goal and Vito as number 2. We've got nothing to lose.

By all means then respond on your time then - I don't mind waiting. I assumed that’s what you were doing since everyone on the forum even those who despise me or more accurately my views would be unable to deny nothing has stopped you commenting repeatedly on my views on a daily and consistent - and constant -basis at any other time.

Are you sure this isn’t just a disingenuous effort to run away from an argument you can’t win?

:?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

QuartzGooner wrote: YOU mention Silvestre in your list of players let go because of financial concerns.
No I list him in a list of years where more than one player at the same position were allowed to leave the same time and some of those players were let go go for financial reasons . As you noted earlier - but again try to deceive other readers about here - William Gallas was clearly let go for financial reasons – and you said so.

QuartzGooner wrote: Gallas wanted wages out of proportion to his age and talent.
You mean like United have paid Giggs and Scholes – who’ve helped them win three Premierships and a Champions League despite both being older than Gallas each of those years? T

he Board at United must feel so stupid because they could have made so much more money the past five years. Oh wanit they have those trophies. But who needs trophies when you can have even more money, right?

QuartzGooner wrote: Not me. YOU brought it up.

So all I did was respond to that.
I also took time and trouble to list all those players (including Gallas and Campbell and Senderos), showing why all but two had valid footballing and personal reasons to leave, unconnected with finance.
I also believe Sol Campbell and several other players was let go for financial reasons not because hw wants to lbe closer to his family as you seem to be suggesting – and not once but twice in Sol's case by Arsenal. This is his public comments on why he did not return to Arsenal. Seems he wasn’t that keen on going “oop norfâ€

True - we have been every summer since 2005.

I think its time we actually address why we're here instead of just constantly doing this :banghead: because it doesn''t help in the end.
