I apologise for my insult towards you Wozza, that bit was OTT. But I stand by my comments on Wenger, the guy is taking the piss, taking his job for granted and has constantly fucked everyone about, the players, fans, fucking everybody. He realised the GK position was too weak, he basically admitted it, made a piss take of a bid for a keeper, then repeated that piss take. He then apparently made an improved offer, then the bid was claimed to have been non-existent by Fulham. If he did make the 4m bid, why drag it out over four or five months and wait till deadline day? If he didn't, well then hes an asshole and should go now.
I can't see how players like Denilson, Diaby, Average, Birdman, Clichy, Bendtner, Vela, Traore etc. will ever come good, he constantly persists with these average players week in, week out, when quality is waiting to be picked up by us, even in the reserves, I reckon if I lobbed my trainer onto the pitch it would do a better job than half our 'team'. The man needs to go, support him its up to you, but I for one will not buy into his 'judge me in may' crap, which then turns into 'judge me next may' when may comes along.
Take a good look at Cesc over the next few months, it's the last we'll see of him until hes in a bitchelona shirt, winning everything, probably scoring against us if we play those whores. Same with RvP, Arshavin etc.

Right, so there's no keeper. Let's draw a line under it and get the season off and running properly now. Whilst I fully accept that the key weaknesses have not been fully dealt with, we can't do anyhting about it until January. Wenger rightly or wrongly believes that either of the two main keepers at the club are good enough. Some of us might beg to differ. I can see a situation developing where one or both of them make mistakes, Wenger can't ignore the situation and has to go out an make a panic signing to paper over cracks in the new year. Arshavin felt a bit like this two years ago and if we find ourselves fucked up because of goalkeeping errors before Christmas, Wenger would have more pressure on him to act.
Looking at the history of our club, we do let things amble along for too long and then have to do something. Perhaps this is another example. Lookign at it realistically, what is available in our wage bracket. Fuck all. Until that is changed this is the way Arsenal are going to be. A bit tin-pot with transfers and wages when compared with the big boys. The best way to attract, afford and keep top talent is to win things. As it is, we're not lookign like we can do that. If you win leagues or European titles, players will play for you for less money than they would elsewhere. They won't do that with us at the moment because we aren't good enough.

Sutch, you dont need to apologise mate, these forums are open for debate. Sometimes its difficult to understand other peoples opinions when you believe so strongly about something, and im as guilty as anyone at this. The reason we all go on this forum and debate is because we love Arsenal football club, different views and beliefs are bound to occur. We just need to try and get behind the team home and away, and enjoy our season togetherSutch wrote:I apologise for my insult towards you Wozza, that bit was OTT. What i just dont understand is that Wenger clearly thinks there is a problem with the goalkeeping position, all his talk and bids tell us that.
So why when his target falls through and that was quite obvious at the weekend. WHY did he not have an alternative lined up ????
If we hear that old line we were in the market to the very end i swear to god the prick wont get my support anymore.
As for Almunia we have to get behind him and hope his good early form continuus ??????????

Like most of us im gutted we haven't signed a gk considering we have had 3 months to do it, going round offering shit money for shit players.
I think the reason behind wenger not signing a keeper is his stubborness to admit he has got it wrong on the gk front, over the last few years by playing almunia and in that time signing fabianski.
I believe arsene works with his hands tied behind his back in the transfer market, and does well with what he has got to even keep us in the top four considering what others spend, but for a club like Arsenal, we all agree we should be aiming higher than this.
Spending decent money on a gk isnt a lot to ask considering we have let numerous players go this summer, and it is so blatantly obvious what has cost us points/games, and all fans can ask for each season is an improvement on the previous season, which again we will all probably agree, i dont think will happen this season, as usual we dont do what needs to be done in the transfer market, to enhance our chances of finally landing silverware.
Ivan Gazidis and Arsene Wenger knew what fans thought on this at the end of the season and when may comes along and we are potless again we will no doubt have hill-wood having a pop at us again, after wenger and co get an earful at the end of season agm
