As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'd also like to say that consistancy isnt the only thing diaby is missing......some bit of brains wouldnt go amiss either
Yes it was I who made the comment about Wenger liking kids. And indeed he does. And it was a joke aimed at the fact that all Wenger likes to do now is find kids and put them under his wing.
Some people are too quick to jump to conclusions. We even sing a chant about Wenger seeing Eboue and wanting to adopt him. I even made a joke about Wenger buying neverland so he and Denilson can retire and live life happy and care free. This doesn’t mean I think he is a fucking Peado. I wish all the conflict on the site would just disappear but in fairness it’s always the reactive rose tints that start getting on peoples backs for daring to moan or criticise a player. Another point to add is that its also several (rose tinters) who don’t really go to all the matches and spend there money. I think if I didn’t have a season ticket and didn’t go away matches my views on Wenger and the team would indeed have a more rose tinted outlook. I am not saying I am a super fan or that my view counts more. It just means I have more passion as like all fans that actual go most home or away matches, we are the 12th man. A fan at home cant generate the same amount of passion and that’s fact.
Fair point about the kids, I also have a little moan about some of the players too, for example I think that Denilson is shite and Bentdner is frustrating and may not have much of a future if Chamakh performs as Chamakh is quicker, a better finisher and very good in the air. It's also not fair to generalise rose tinters as not going to games, u'll find just as many 'Arsene knows' people who go to games as well as lots of armchair fans who want Arsene out. Also I agree with ur point abt the fans, but I think that there is a time and a place for fans to vent any frustrations they have, and imo 3 games in, second in the league and a very good away win last weekend, this isn't the right time. And yes it's frustrating we haven't signed a keeper, but we should give Almunia a chance to win us back.

If rose tinters didnt go matches the ground would be less than half full. I Was just saying that some of the comments on this site made by rose tinters are the ones who dont even go matches.
The transfer saga is over now and 4 months of waiting and wishing has taken many of us to the brink of insanity.
We should all just support the players (the ones who desrve it anyway) But even now i wont support the Manager and sing his name.

Some of the harshest critics of Wenger on here are from Ireland and they certainly don't go to most matches so your argument doesn't hold.
What is your point there? There are just as many pro-Wengerites from Oireland on here and in general amongst Gooners.
Those that go to games from Oireland will tend to spend way more going to games over a year than 90% of people that go to every game. The number of games that someone attends (or how much they spend) doesn't qualify anyone as a better or more loyal or more informed supporter.

I absolutely knew that you would have misread my post and was expecting this kind of reply. Let me try and explain it again.
Mikey said that the rose-tinted opinions on these forums are mostly by people who don't go to many matches.
I then countered that with the fact that on this forum some of Wenger's harshest critics are from Ireland, and because of whatever reason (be it financial or wife and kids or the long distance) they don't get to attend many games either, maybe a handful in one season.
So my point being that not going to many matches does not necessarily make you on the rose-tinter side of the argument as our Irish friends who heavily criticise Wenger also do not get to go to many games, thus making mikey's argument void.
My previous post was nothing to do with who is more loyal or who's opinion counts more and im dissapointed that you read it in that way.

Those who regularly go to games have an opportunity to qualify as better informed fans in one particular respect, than those who do not regualry attend.
The regulars see the game in person, which gives a view of the whole pitch and how the players are positioned, plus off the ball body language and the interaction of players, something that is not always apparent from TV.
This opportunity only holds much weight if the person attending games is sufficiently intelligent and knowledgeable to render meaning from what has been seen.

To what I have highlighted - Why would this make a difference to your views ?

Second, the whole "Rosetinter" v "Realist" thing is mostly light hearted on here. But when the insults and "fuck off to chel$ki" jibes start flying it is the so called "Rosetinters" that are doing it 9 times out of 10. Thus the response from the so called "Realists" of "maybe you would be better off on a forum where others blindly agree with you if you cannot argue your point without questioning someone's loyalty/resorting to insults etc".
Yeah but is that really any worse then when the "realists" around here accuse anyone who isnt in their clique ( ) of being Wengerites and having no concept of the club pre-1996? That seems a very "superfan" thing to do.
Agree totally, but I think it is a minority of the so called "Realists" that do that. Or possibly it is a frustrated jibe at the Arsene-alisation of our club and the perception that some of the so called "Rosetinters" seem to have this belief that Arsene is Arsenal and that without him we wouldn't exist. I don't think it is thrown at anyone that argues their point rationally though. Well mostly not - I suppose there will always be one or two knobends on both sides of the fence!
I get that, but it is hardly a majority on the other side that give it all the "fuck off and support chelsea" lark either. In the couple of years that I've been reading this forum I've seen that phrase used in a serious context only once, that i can recall.
But I agree, all this "sides" stuff is a load of old bollocks. I am thoroughly uninterested in how people wish to categorise themselves, the only thing that really grates me is the idea that someone is a JCL/non-fan just because they fail to see doom/conspiracy around every corner at Arsenal. Likewise, for the sake of consistency my ire is also directed at people who make similar conclusions about people of a negative persuasion.
there are small sections of our support that I do hope fuck off and support chelsea- and its nothing to do with their beliefs about wenger or their negativety.

I didn't think you were having a serious pop but if you read your two liner it is easily misconstrued.

And their is the rub. The simple fact of them going to something regularly does not qualify them as being more informed at all. The opportunity is certainly there but that doesn't mean that the opportunity will be taken advantage of as many people simply do not understand the game.
Similarly, there is the argument that with modern multi camera coverage you will see far more of the critical elements of the game on TV. Personally, I'd take being at the game over TV coverage any day but must admit to having sometimes not seen a key moment in a game I'm at because of poor view or crowd jostling (olde days ) etc and have had to watch the TV highlights that night to see what actually happened!
