I know, I've been guilty of it myself. There were many times this season when I simply couldn't bear the weight of supporting such a failing team. Alas, I knew the feelings of the Tottenham fans all too well. Lacklustre, inconsistent, infuriating performances...
But then I found myself angered at the fans at Ashburton: the moaners, the booers, the early leavers. In times of need, we, the fans, must come to help our team. We must do our bit to show our love and devotion, and do what we can (despite our footballing deficiencies).
But we chose not to. We (I) chose to moan at Hleb's lack of decisiveness, Henry's arrogance, Eboue's lack of commitment, Lehmann's bizarre behaviours, even the Great Wenger's odd decision-making. And then I realised: love is about accepting the faults, and working towards improving and bettering. And I (we) LOVE Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger, and Theirry's arrogance, and Hleb's ball-skill, and Eboue's energy, and Lehmann's bizarre behaviour. We must all do our bit. No more complaining. Accept the way of football, and accept the way of Arsenal - we play the most beautiful football, and have some of the most amazing players. We have so much to be proud of.
So, feel free to discuss our deficiencies and hopefull signings; life after Dein and life with Baptista; Ashburton vs. Highbury etc etc etc. But please, get behind Arsenal. Lets use our voices for the good of our team. I notice so many people angered by Arsenal, feeling somehow betrayed by our own success. But the reality is we are so close to greatness.
But why have we got to give up so quickly as soon as some results go against us? Think of the injuries, think of the youth, think how far we've come this season...Think of the positives! It's fickle and impatient to expect it all now; Wenger knew that Champions League final was an anomoly last season, and that it was ahead of schedule. I believe if we can stay injury free next season, we shall be great and exciting...and the THIRD great team under Arsene. Please have faith, and please can we stop using Gooner as a means to belittle and undermine Arsenal.
Negativity at Gooner, at Arsenal and on the terraces...

Sadly, its inbred and part of being a gooner.
I find Hleb frustrating it must be said but I ended up having a blazing arguement with the guy in front of me vs. West Ham as he booed him off the pitch. My point was "don't boo anyone in red and white" and he then pointed to him being useless for several weeks now and "not good enough". I still can't see the logic in booing our own.
It's something we've not seen in its fullness until recently when our season fell apart in a matter of games/weeks. For 11 years we've had something to cling to - normally in the way of a final. Without that to cover us our frustrations have been released!
I'm renewing my season ticket without thinking twice about it. For all our faults we are entertaining and i do believe this team could turn out to be one of the best yet.
Sadly, i think we are missing a natural leader that will prevent for losing games against lesser teams. But that is a topic for another day......
