Vela is a Gooner?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Vela is a Gooner?

Post by T.S »

Word's getting round that Carlos Vela has had his loan deal terminated and has now returned to Arsenal.

Don't believe me? - http://arseblog.com/columns/2008/01/01/ ... h-arsenal/

In the past, Arseblog has always seemed like a pretty reputable source, so although I'm not going to fully believe anything until it's on the official site, it is certainly interesting.

Your thoughts...?

I'm off to the game. Happy new year!

Have to say that I seen the boy play a few weeks ago(v real madrid i think) and he did look really good. He wasnt afraid to run at defenders and wasnt intimidated by the big name opposition players 1 jot. Fcuk it if he qualifies for a permit then bring home home now - he has had 18months on loan in spain so he must have got the necessary experience by now  How elae are we going to know if we need to sign a superstar

I can't find anything about him leaving on the Spanish websites. Not even marca who are normally very up to date. Still on the Osasuna website as a first team player. Lots of rave reviews about him though. 8)

I did find this which is a compilation of everything he did in the Real Madrid game that Augie mentions. he looks really useful. reminds me a bit of Pires. needs to take shooting practice though.

Gunnerblog is saying that we are apparently gonna sign a left winger. I wonder if Vela is the left winger (thats where he seemed to be playing in that clip).

Well, word is starting to get around now that he's coming back. I guess we'll have to wait and see. He wasn't in the Osasuna squad at all the other night. Make of that what you will.

Maybe Arsene is going to pull off one of his masterstrokes and convert him into a centreback for a month....either that or we are going to black Gallas on his own and play an extra striker!
