LETS HEAR IT FOR.... CROYDON ATHLETIC!!! Stantion Kings.

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Did anyone see the feature on Croydon Athletic on Sky Sports News today.??

Obviously a club that favours traditional stantions.

Tear drops at one end and classic angle stantions at the other!!! Never seen 2 styles on the same pitch!!!.

Merit where merit is due!!!!

Well due to the Pakistan betting scandal Croydon are likely to be out of business by the end of next week...shame that....the management staff resigned and the players are likely to be out of work....

Stanchions wont be standing there for much longer

Sorry about my mis spelling of stanchion. Somehow stantion looks more natural.

Anyway if they go under a plaque should be erected congratulting them for the unique scenario of 2 different stanchions on the same pitch!!!

Shame it will be Tescos or Asda by next month. I read an interview with the manager on BBC Sport and he seemed prety genuine. Sorry for all that will be out of work.

Finally someone who is sad enough like me to appreciate a good stanchion!

They used to be green at Highbury until 91/92:

Then my favourite red ones were used for four seasons:

It was such a shame Euro 96 had to spoil the green stanchions at Wembley:

I always liked the Chelsea goalposts:

Until these bloody things came along and ruined stanchions as we knew them:

Can't beat a good stanchion debate! Step, what's your favourite stanchion of ALL TIME?

It's got to be Wembley's for me...

http://goalpostsonmars.blogspot.com/ is a link to a stanchion blog
In the blog the nerd who wrote it said "curled one into"- AND there's a mention of Highbury!

I prefer the old red and yellow cards, these new ones are just a shade too dark.

Thats what happens when you move stadium, pre 2005 the grass was much greener I'd say its down to the boards decisions.
