Laptop - TV Help

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Post by Connolly55 »

Hey all, got a question just wanted some help. Basically, when i watch the games on the laptop, by streaming, i was wondering if there was any kind of lead or something i could buy so i could watch it on my tv instead?

You need to get a VGA monitor cable. This will allow you to connect your laptop to a computer monitor, an LCD screen etc.

Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
Some TV's will not recognise the signal, or it is a distorted signal, so an alternative can be using something like the new Apple TV device.

Yeah, pretty straight forward really. Just get yourself a cable that matches the connector on your laptop, usually VGA but quite possibly HDMI these days.

Got mine hooked up with HDMI for movies & tv in lovely hi-def :barscarf:

depends on your tv and your laptop, mate. look what sorts of video output (laptop) and video input (TV) they have (you'll see by the type of conector). and the order or preference in terms of quality is this:

1. DVI or HDMI
2. VGA
3. SVIDEO
4. RCA

google image those names if you don't remember what they look like.
