The reason is simple. He clearly either does not not know the details of what hpaapned in the incident he referenced or deliberately withhled them.

I have e-mails from former and current moderators as well as from many friends thaen and now from the forum that will confirm that in fact my banning was unjustified and was not porpulary supported (indeed there were portets and debates about it two and three years after it happened.

As for the moderators I can confirm that one resigned in protest at the time of the incident and that another who is still a moderator now I believe stated I broke no forum rules whatsoever at that time, and while he acknolwedged they would rreview and revise the rules with my case in mind it never happened. Some cutrrent forum members use to even ask on a regular basis how soon the new rules would be posted as recently as last year or even early this yer.

Olgit has deliberately used this incident which I do not deny happened to mis-represent my character and at the very least should be made to apologize formally for that. The issue was not my behavior but my views and I have an e-mail that absolutely confirms at that time that the Board were aware that my behavior had violated no forum rules.

If Olgit is going to print what happened there he has an obligation to print why it happened as well, otherwise he owes me an apology or should upon the facts being confirmed face action ofr this. The issue bot saying I was banned from that forum but using banning that to impugn my character here when in fact my character was not at issue and that is in fact beyond dispute..

Yet again, you have hijacked a thread and used it as a platform for your anti-board crusade.

It's quite simple really.

I was nanned because some forum members and moderators who were deeply offended by my views (they had tried to encourage me to post in a separate sub-forum solely opened for discussing my views, even though anyone familiar with that fioorum knows that simply would have isolated my posts in a way that was tantamount to censorship in my opinion).

But the issue comes down to this - mt ban had nothing to do with violating any forum rules, and that while the moderator who told me this supported my banning and stated that the rules would be changed because of my circumstnaces they have not been in over four years.

The quote that Olgit posted actually is from two or three years after my banning occurred. because even then there was still that much conmdemnation of the moderators doing what they did and how they did it. I cannot confirm this but I was told by a friend who spoke to Judith Gleieber at the time of the actual incident that while she was not prepared to to get involved that she said something to the effect that it would not have happened that way had Steve been alive. I cannot confrim she said that but I was told she did. That quote was Mrs Glieber acting out of loyalty to her moderators whom she felt deep gratitude for (and rightly so) keeping Steve's site alive.

The important point here is that one of the moderators again confirmed even as this was happening that it was not because I had broken forum rules or behaved improperly. Indeed this is why the action was highly unpopular at the time and as I say for two and three years afterwards remained at times at hotly debated issue.

I have no issue with Olgit pointing out I was banned - in fact I believe I had said as much myself previously. My issue if wwith him taking what he learned and posting it without context and using to impugn my character when in fact as i said my character was not in fact the issue there. I still converse regularly with many members form there even some whom I know dislike my views very much. Though honestly I need to catch up with some of them soon in fact. Guess this is at least as good an excuse as any.
