Dont like Cricket but I thought Freddie was a genius. More for his off the field stuff, seems like a genuine bloke.

Outstanding cricketer who maybe shortened his career but pissing it up from time to time but still leaves cricket with a massive winning record. Good luck whatever he does next

In his prime he was an incredible all-rounder and probably at the time the best cricketer in the game. He's been a terrific servant for English cricket and will definitely be missed, good luck to him whatever he does next :barscarf:

He was quality in the Ashes but never quite lived up to his potential, niggling injuries and that.

Was essentially a better Klusener with his style of batting - IMO could have been almost as good as JK had he not got pissed every evening and not got those injuries.

When are you going to the Oval mate?

There was a period from after the '03 World Cup to the end of the '05 Ashes when he was incredible, and imo did outperform Kallis with the ball at least. Off to The Oval tomorrow, weather looks decent, standard flat Oval pitch, should be a cracking day! :D

Lucky man, enjoy it!

That could be said, but Kallis' batting was so bloody good that my (albeit green-tinted) opinion would be that Kallis was the better player. Flintoff always was the better bowler mind you.
